I have searched for a half an hour for what you need and have come up empty handed. I searched Panasonic web site and i have an account at a web site that has drivers for almost everything that needs drivers. I think because of the age of the camera it is not supported by Panasonic and there are no Vista drivers. I feel your pain I have an all in one printer that is not supported by the manufacturer any more and has no Vista drivers. My advice is to buy a new camera or buy an old PC that you can use to capture the video off the camera and then transfer the files to the vista machine to do what you need. Sorry, Good luck.

I have windows vista and i cant install the usb driver and pixela programs for this handycam please help me.

the usb driver and pixela application is not compatible with windows vista. usb streaming is not supported by windows vista and 7 OS. however it would still be possible to transfer videos from your dv camcorder using the dv interface (ieee1394 or ilink) connection. you would need to have an ilink (ieee1394) card installed in your computer. you can check by going to device manager window. if you don't, try checking with your PC manufacturer recommendations for an ieee1394 chipset or card.if you do, all you need is an ilink cable (btw, the cam uses 4pin jack).get the correct cable for use with the PC and camcorder, and use windows moviemaker for your video capturing software.hope this helps.thanks :)

also, here's the support site for your unit:

Desperately need Panasonic NV-GS50 USB driver for Windows Vista. Does it exist please?

Connect to your PC with a 1394 cable. When Windows Vista finds it, it will install the driver and you are ready. I did this after first connecting with a standard USB cable and getting a "compatability conflict" message. Now I am up and running.

Should this fail to work, contact Panasonic Camcorder helpline on 0844 844 3869.

I HAVE DCR-HC42E

You can try installing the XP drivers. See if that works. But you may have to downconvert back to XP in order to have that connectivity. Sometimes a new OS just plain breaks the connection.

If this doesn't work  The touch screen menu on the camera has a function near the bottom that turns USB Streaming on.Try this.

Another solution is to buy a firewire pci card (if it does not already have one) for your pc and a 4 pin cable to connect.

Or else you can just download XP drivers from the sony's website  and install it.

Sony handycam dcr-trv19 mini dv

Because of the fact that Microsoft thinks they're so smart and released Windows Vista as their newest piece of ****, this camera will not work with Vista. The drivers for Windows Vista are non-existent. I went to the site for Sony and could only find XP drivers and 98 and 2000. They do not make them for Vista. And of course Vista should have most common drivers preinstalled, yet they don't have this one. I haven't found a way around it yet. I tried to get the drivers for Windows XP and install them. No good! It cannot be used on "this current operating system." Good luck. Hope somebody else finds an answer.

PC wont see my Panasonic NV-DS50

Generally when you connect the camera via USB Windows XP and Vista activate native drivers and the camera becomes visible under "My Computer" (XP) or "Computer" (Vista) as a removable drive. However, probably will not be visible by capture software. In that case you would need to use a DV interface cable otherwise known as firewire and have the camcorder in playback mode.
