Question about Polaroid PDM-0824 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

DVD Player does not turn on

The DVD player is plugged in. The light on the power cord is lit. I have confirmed that the power switch on the unit is on, but there is no indication of power to the player. It is dead. No audio, no videa, no disc movement. Is there perhaps an internal fuze someplace?

Check the power connection on the player. Wiggle it to see if the ON lite blinks. Polaroid has had problems with this connections. ON lite will indicate that the fuse probably is OK. But there may not be complete power to the whole player because of a bad power connection.

WILL NOT EJECT DISC

What is the model number of your DVD player? You may try power resetting the unit and check if it helps. To power reset, turn OFF the DVD player and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray.

Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.
NOTE: This step may not apply to all models as DISC1 is not available on all DVD players.

If this does not work and if the DVD player has DISPLAY and PREV buttons, press and hold the DISPLAY+PREV buttons for two seconds to unlock the drawer.

DR-C500 problem with turning the system ON

Make sure all power connectors, cords and plugs are inserted securely and that the outlets are in good working order Be sure to select an audio source (CD, AM/FM, etc.) For powered systems, unplug the power pack for a few seconds, and then reconnect it. This allows the unit to reset itself after a power surge or power interruption. good luck!
