Re: kodac M8931S how to change date&time after first...
Should be in setup screen. If the date does not hold after a battery change/charge, then your capacitor on the mainboard is bad, it wont affect anything but the date/time and any custom settings you have set. It can be replaced be a camera shop, but it will exceed the cost of the camera in most instances.

It is really NORMAL that the date will be reset to the Manufacturer's date whenever you are changing batteries.
For you not to keep on changing the date and time of your camera, use Rechargeable batteries for a longer battery life span but make sure that you will be setting the battery type of your camera for the Rechargeable ones.
To set the correct battery type. - Press on MENU button - Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2 - Scroll down until you see BATTERY TYPE - Select ALKALINE if you're using NON-RECHARGEABLE - Select Ni-MH if you're using RECHARGEABLE - Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved
Turn off camera after the settings have been changed to refresh the camera.
Whenever you change the batteries in your camera you need to reset the clock. You can use the LCD screen Settings menu or set the camera's clock from your computer. See Getting Started and Chapter 6 for more information.
