Question about Denon Audio Players & Recorders

Can't connect Denon DRA 37 to tv

I have two Denon DRA-37 receivers with 2 sets of speakers each. One is connected directly from my tv to the 'v-aux' on the receiver and it works fine. The other one won't work . I've tried connecting the tv to the v-aux, and I've tried connecting the cable box itself to the v-aux but neither one lets the tv sound through. All of the other options on this receiver are fine; the tuner, cd player, etc. The tv is a Sylvania LC200SL8 A . I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!!

SOURCE: connecting new tv to DRA-685

you can use the headphone jack just get an adaptor to change from the headphone type to RCA type. adjust the volume of the tv to 3/4 of the way to give line level to the stereo, use an aux input on the stereo. if you had a suround sound dolby digital / DTS receiver then use the digital coax out to that type of receiver, but since you have an anolog 2 channel receiver you must use the only anolog source (the headphone).

SOURCE: no sound from right speaker when mp3 connected through aux

Hi bustero78

What happens when you rotate the plug or wriggle it about. If it cuts in and out, then you may have a faulty interconnect lead, or a dodgy socket/plug connection to the player. If it works with headphones, I would suggest replacing the lead.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, just give me a hoy :) If you are still unsure, or have problems, then before you give a rating for this advice, please get back to me and we can try some more things.
Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Cheers.

SOURCE: not all speakers work in a LD 220 Surround sound receiver

Yes all speaker must be connected in order for them to work properly.  Also note that the audio that you are playing through it must be dolby digital 5.1 or higher or DTS.  If you are simply watching a tv program most of them will not be in surround sound as well as music discs.

I would have thought simply making certain that whatever is connected to your Video Aux connection is actually in the socket and is not hanging out or even a faulty lead.

Can dra 37 be used as a pre-amp without connecting speakers

If you mean a sa control center for source selection, volume and tone control, yes, but NOT for a turntable (no PHONO).

Controlled audio goes emerges from the pre-out. Page 9.

But you could still use its own speaker terminals if your exxternal amp has is remote or has its own volume control to match it up with other speakers.

Denon dra 397 shuts done if I turn on both zone a & b. Have a 100 watt volume control on each pair of speakers. Works fine with only zone a or zone b on, but not both.

Let's understand this - you have an external volume control wired in series with each front speaker set?

Can you elaborate on their electrical characteristics?

How do I connect my Denon DRA-75R to my new Vizio TV?

You can connect it only if the tv has Audio outputs. If it does then just use a 2-head RCA cable to connect it to the Aux input on the Denon.

Denon DRA-37 Receiver-Remote lock on. Need to unlock.

Refer to the "Initialization of the Microprocessor" section of the manual (page 16 of the PDF version of the manual).
1) Turn the unit OFF using the On/Off switch (not the standby switch).
2) Depress both the Speaker A and B switches, and turn the Power ON.
3) The entire display should flash at 1-second intervals. The microprocessor should be reset, and the remote should be unlocked.

Denon receiver (DRA 397) will not speak to iPod dock

IF YOUR NOT USING A DENON IPOD DOCKING STATION IT WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CONNCET OTHER TYPES OF IPOD DOCKING STATIONS BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL THROUGH THE DENON AND ONLY CONNECT THE AUDIO FOR THAT DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON AS ANOTHER SOURCE INPUT
