Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
The powerboard the switch is attached to is about 5.00 on Ebay. Its pretty easy to change out as it just plugs in. If you have a small phillips screwdriver and about 20 minutes, you can change it out. You can remove the cover and short the 10-11 pins on the Power board ribbon cable connector and that should turn your unit on if only the switch is bad, but I had the same problem and the mobo and wi-fi card were both shot and the unit was finished. Another option would be to use a pandora battery to see if the unit will power on in service mode, no switch needed as it will power up automatically as soon as you put the pandora battery in. You can make one with a working PSP or look up a local "PSP modder" that will do it for you for a small fee. He will flash your PSP with the latest custom firmware and you will be able to play downloaded or backed up games right off your memory stick. pishta68 at hotmail dot com if you get stuck.
