If they overloaded the circuit, it will trip the house breaker or blow the house fuse. You can't overload a heater.

If the unit has a fuse it will be on the internal circuit board, but this is unlikely to be the issue.

Nothing in the link makes me think it has a fuse, but your should be aware that a Del-Rain product had a recall on it.

Those units can have a broken heating element and you cannot see the break. You need to have someone check it with a meter.

I have had the same problem. I took it apart and found that one of the metal discs was corroded and little fragments were chipping off causing it to spark. I am looking to find a place to buy the disc.

I have used one of these for years and was looking to find a new one and came across your question. I don't have the manual but here is how the programming works:
On/Off (obvious)
Heat/Fan (if lit it makes heat if off it just runs fan)
Auto/Manual (if off the temperature slider causes the fan to run on high or low)
Preset on (I don't use this but probably can be used to set it to turn on after a selected number of hours)
Preset off (if lit the heater will turn itself off after the number of hours shown on the right)
Time select (press this button to change the number of lights shown vertically ... each is labelled and you add them up to get the hours you want from 1 to 15 ... so if bottom two numbers are lit (1+2) then heater will run for 3 hours then turn off)

You can use a replacement cord from most hardware stores as long as it has a rating of at least 1500 watts and polarized plug. Thank you.

Like all 1500 watt appliances, 12.5. You divide the watts by the volts to get the amps (except for reactive loads like motors etc.). Why do you ask? Is it popping breakers?

check for dust in the air path through the heater. the fan forces air through the element.  if you have an air blower - blow air in a reverse direction through it.
