Dear Sir, I have a GE Refrigerator model GSS25WGPA. My ice dispenser has stopped working and I think it's the motor. I removed the ice tray and auger. With the door open, I turned the light off and...

Sounds
like you may be right on the bad auger motor. You can remove it from the freezer and apply 120 volts to it with a test cord and see if it goes. I have seen some that actually freeze up and start working when they warm up. If you need to replace it, retail cost is about $70. Here is the GE part # WR60X10258

GE Side by Side Refrig - loud noise behind the ice maker section Model PSS25SGMB BS

it sounds like the evaporator fan blade is hitting some ice that has built up around the blades i have seen this happen a lot on g.e. SxS lately,if you can remove the ice maker and dispenser you can see the fan blade,if you dont want to do this then shut down the refrigerator and leave freezer door open and heat it carefully with a hairdrier to speed the process up to melt this ice then restart it and the noise should be gone

The refrigerator is constantly making a cyclical howling or wheezing sound. Very annoying and noticeably loud.

Your condebser coils may be dirty, whenever i blow them out(outdoors) its amaxing the garbage they collect in the course of moving air through them., compressor may be tired.

The compressor makes a big clunk clunk sound when it shuts off

Hi,
The compressor motor mount is broken and that allows the compressor to flop around and clunk when shutting down.
That also allows it to twist and turn as it starts...
this will have to be fixed before the refrigerant piping breaks...

Compressor motor shuts off but does not turn back on

it sounds like you have a bad temperature control thermostat. the contacts are probably dirty or loaded with carbon. replace it.

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.

GE SidexSide PSS26SGPASS Makes Humming Noise

GE refrigs have a variable speed evaporator fan motor that is controlled by a computer board on the back of the refrig. now the noise you are hearing is most likely the fan motor ramping up and down in speed (some of my customers say it sounds like a ghost). if its a continuous ramping up and down then the speed cotroller on the board is bad and must be replaced. if its just an occasional sound then thats normal and nothing to worry over.

Btw the reason the noise stops when the door opens is because the fan shuts off when you open the door.
