Question about LG DLE2514 Electric Dryer

2 Answers

Wet clothes take two 'trips' to dry.

We have the LG 2515S electric front end dryer. We've owned it for about 3 years now, bought it new at Home Depot. My wife has complained that it doesn't dry the clothes on the first go-around. She cleans the lint filter regularly. I've cleaned out the exhaust duct in the back. It's not like it doesn't heat/dry...just seems to take twice the amount of time on every load.

Same problem for us. LG says the dryer is "designed" to leave the clothes wet. We sometimes have to run the sensor dry cycle as many as three times

I have the same dryer and it seems to be doing the same thing. I'm on the fourth time drying and when I open the door, the clothes are warm, still damp, but there is moisture on the door and surrounding it. Please help....there is nothing blocking the vent from the outside but it is really cold here. Although, it has been working fine through 3 really cold winters and I've never had this problem before.

Same issue on my LG, and IT IS NOT THE VENTING! How do I know? I disconnected the vent at the machine, letting the warm air into the house. I cleaned the machine thruroughly and still the cooling light stays on all times, clothes are warm but still damp... nbut but not as warm as they should be. A thermostat/sensor problem?

Same here too. Wish I would have read about this before I sunk my hard-working money into it.

I have the same problem! Frustration!!

arrgggg!! My dryer is less than 3 years old and we bought it at Best Buy. It takes sometime 3x as long as the washer to dry things. I bought this thinking the quick wash/dry would be 'quick'.. nope! I cleaned out the venting to the outside and disconnected the hose. I cleaned everything out... it's pretty pathetic!

no matter what I dry on what temp, the clothes don't dry, even after several trips through. I set it for 60minutes and it stops after 10. Its only a year old.

UNPLUG THE DRYER THEN PRESS THE MORE TIME , AND THE LESS TIME BUTTONS AND THE POWER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. THEN WAIT FOR 3-5 MINUTES THEN PLUG THE DRYER BACK UP . SEE IF THAT WORKS BY THAT RESET.

Sounds like a blockage in the vent to outside birs nest or something blocking airflow

Drying machine not working, the clothes always wet.

If the dryer doesn't heat, but the drum turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is blown, it will have to be replaced.

Clothes smell after drying

I don't think the problem lies with the dryer, I would suspect the washer has mold, this is especially true on front load washer, they make products designed just for this problem, check with a large retailer, not sure who makes the mold and mildew remover, I think Home Depot or Lowes may have the product or know about it..

Admiral Dryer: 5 cycle 3 temperature electric

Unplug Dryer
Remove back (many screws)
Clean lint from interior & Vent Chute
check for breakage & parts on dryer floor
check for burn damage (wires burned off or char)
if no burn or char:
could be the "Dryer Coil" itself broke or
a "Snap Disc" usually mounted on the coil housing.
Very Serious!!!! Replace only!!!! Do not ever bypass!!!!
Stay clear of dryer for test start
Be ready to shut it down fast in case of problems
Always replace back & vent chute
Good luck,
Vinnie

It takes at least 2 60 minute cycles to dry clothes. Not even 2 years old yet. Not a new problem has always been this way. What is the deal.

Check the blower fan which is mounted underneath the drum on my DLE2514W front loading LG dryer. I experienced poor drying along with a loud thump at the start of each cycle. At first I thought it was a bad roller but later found that the blower fan had separated from its bracket so it was not turning with each turn of the moter but rather spinning freely.

Dle2532 lg dryer, cooling light is always on

I'll take a stab that you use dryer softener sheets. These will deposit a coating on the two metal sensor bars (about 4 inches long, very near the lint filter inside the drum) which prevents the sensor from "seeing" that the clothes are still wet, so the dryer jumps to the cool down portion of the cycle. Clean the metal bars off and it should work again. (note: the bars are not in the cycle if you choose time dry instead of using the automatic cycles)

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!

LG DLE5977 Electric Dryer

Below are some solutions that other customers have cited. The control board seems to have a glitch in it, so I would take it back and get a replacement. New product is covered by a factory warranty or a dealer replacement guarantee. My husband and I just BARELY bought an LG Electric Dryer. I'ts model #DLE2516W. As soon as you hit the power button, "check filter" comes on. The right after that, the error code "Te1" flashes and it does nothing but beep. Clearly, the filter has NOTHING in it because I've never run a load of clothes thru it. When I look in the troubleshooting section of the owners manual, it tells me that this means that the thermistor is open and needs to be replaced. But I'm confused as to why a BRAND NEW dryer already needs a part replaced. Can ANYONE please help me. I have lots of laundry to do. Haha!
Comment by Amanda02, posted on Sep 11, 2007 Well... we took it back to Home Depot and they are replacing it. i was trying to fix it because it takes 3 weeks to get a new one. They don't have any in stock!! And it takes 3 darn weeks to get a new one.
