Ok i can see the other person they can't see me i can also hear them and they can hear me though i can't be seen

1.Check that your webcam is switched on and is connected to your computer.

2.Close all programs that may be using the webcam. These include video editing software, instant messengers (such as Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger), browsers, Windows Explorer, and even some websites.

3.Make sure that both you and the person you are video calling are using the latest version of Skype, Yahoo Messenger..

4.Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft DirectX. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can get the latest version of DirectX by updating Windows with the latest service packs and updates. For Windows XP, you can download it here.

5.Check that your webcam is listed in Device Manager
Do one of the following:
Windows 7: Click the Windows button and select Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound and under Devices and Printers select Device Manager.
Click the little arrow beside Imaging Devices.Windows Vista: Open the Start menu and select Control Panel.
Open System and Maintenance and click Device Manager.Windows XP:Open the Start menu and select Control Panel. Open System and in the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.Under Imaging devices, check that you webcam is listed

12_9_2011_1_37_52_am.jpg

If it's not listed, reinstall the drivers for your webcam.
A driver is the program you install with the webcam which makes it work on your computer. (Some webcams use preinstalled drivers so you may not have had to install one.) Make sure you have the most recent drivers for your webcam by downloading them from the webcam manufacturer's website.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on this issue .And try to include more information in your request ...like camera model # , operating system ( windows xp ,vista ,7, etc ...) , and the software you are using to chat online ..(yahoo messenger, skype , facebook,or any other platform ...)

How to install it?

Hi,

Go to the "Start" menu and "Control Panel" and click on "Device Manager. Proceed to "Imaging Devices" and "HP Webcam."

Click on the "Driver" tab. Update the driver. Click "Search Automatically" for updated driver software.

Open "Quick Play" and click on the music, video and picture icon on the bottom of the screen.

Under "Source" click "USB Video Device." Your webcam should be activated. Press the red button on the bottom of the screen to record video. Press it once more to stop. Click on the camera icon to take a snap shot image.

Go to "Public," "Public Videos" and "HP Webcam" to view your videos. Go to "Public," and "Public Pictures" to view your pictures.

Thanks,

I dont know how to use myweb camera

Hi,

Step 1.
The process for using your webcam with instant messenger programs varies, but once you understand one you can figure out the others, or at least have an idea how to start.
To use one with Yahoomag-glass_10x10.gif Messenger, go to the main window and select the Messenger tab. Click on "My Webcam." Your webcam should start working, and you should see it pop up automatically.
  • Step 2 Setting up a webcam on a website is a bit complex, but can be done. You can either set up a new website or use one you already have, but it must be one you can FTP files to and not simply a blog on a network such as Blogger. FTP is a way to transfer files by using software such as CuteFTP. The software will ask for your website and a username and password. After entering this information you can copy files from your computer to where your website is hosted. Webcam software will have this type of software built in and will work to uplad your pictures on a periodic basis after you have provided the necessary information.

Buy or download free webcam software. Yawcam is one free program. Yawcam is reliable but buying software will probably provide more options and will probably be reliable longer into the future. This type of software will manage the automatic uploading of images from your camera to your website. You will just need to provide FTP settings and information about the webpage where the webcam will be set up. Add the XHTML img src code to your webpage that includes your default camera picture size.
  • Step 3 Taking a photo with your webcam is easy. Most webcams come with software that has a picture function built in, but if you don't know where this function is, you can do it online. Go to Picanom and select the snap tab. Point your camera and click "Snap." Click on the thumbnail picture and you can save it.

  • Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

Normal 0 See section A. Skype in the info below to setup the Audio & Video.
Also send this to your family and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
    A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:
    1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
    2. Then click on the Video Settings.
    3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
    4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.
    B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:
    1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
    2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
    3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
    4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.
    Hope this helps. Bud

    My web cam

To super-size (or minimize) your webcam image, click Messenger and select "My Webcam."
Click Messenger again, and this time select Preferences.
At the top of the window that opens, click Camera Settings, where you can adjust the size of the image.
If you want to change image size for only one session:
Start your webcam by clicking Messenger, then My Webcam.
In the window that opens, click Webcam, then Image Size. You can pick Small or Large.

Webcam logitech webcam compatability issues with vista Does not want to show picture only on yahoo works on MSN

Normal 0 What it sounds like is that you have not set up the Video option in your Yahoo Messenger program. If this hasn't been done, it will not broadcast your image.
Normal 0 Here is setup Yahoo Messenger.

Which ever Messenger or Skype you are using has to be setup in order to function. All Messengers and Skype have an Audio & Video setup in them so the camera and microphone work properly with their program.
Bring up Yahoo Messenger and on the top left click on MESSENGER.
    Then click on "Messenger Preferences."
Next in Category click on "Calling & Devices."
When that comes up check to make sure that Microphone is set to your audio card.
Next insure that the speakers are set to your audio card.

Then go to "Test Audio "In the Blue print "Open the call setup Assistant" When the window opens follow the instructions. When finished your camera audio should function properly.

Also you need to go to the Video setup and do the same so it will broadcast the pictures.

    Hope this helps. Bud.
