Question about Belkin F1U115E Parallel Switch

Belkin Parallel AutoSwitch F1U115E

We recently upgraded one of our workstations from Win 2K to XP Pro. Once we did the switch stopped working. Both connected PC's are on XP pro now. When I connect the Com1 port to the PC the printer works fine, however when I try to use the switch with the new PC I get the following: PCL XL Error Subsystem: image Error: Missing Data Operator: ReadImage Position: 12 Except for the PCL XL Error the other 4 fields give a different error message each time. Now the other PC prints without any problem. I have moved the connection from port A to B, same issue. I have tried different cables, same issue. It seems that once the new PC was brought in, the Belkin AutoSwitch stopped working correctly. Is this a known issue?

Re: Belkin Parallel AutoSwitch F1U115E

Please advise of further info. All the connected PC's are running on XP. One is not connecting to the network. Sounds like the "Local Area Network" setting needs to be set for "Automatically assign an IP". Go to the start menu, select "Run" and type in "CMD". Type "IPCONFIG" and enter. This will display your network setting and IP address. If there is no IP address, then you will enever have a connection. If the IP address is listed, it will display a unique IP address, a subnet of and the ip address of the gateway. Please respond with any further.

Tape un dispositivo consecutivo en la ranura "A", y el otro en "B". Lamentable, pero yo no podía encontrar un manual en línea para su dispositivo de hardware.

One day the Belkin 7 port hub works the next day it doesn't

Your problems with the Belkin 7 port are not due to the Dell computer or the XP OS. To problem solve, select on USB port and stay with it, not the 2 top ports for your keyboard and mouse. 1. Plug in the power adapter, wiggle it about, widen the prongs, change outlets at the 120 v. end. 2. Use an simple hand magnifier and peer closely at the DC input plug and be positive that the center post and the minue side piece of metal if in firm constact with the plug. If cannot insure a firm fit, sligtly bend that tiny metal piece towards center. Option 2, use another adaptor with the precise voltage as the original and the idential pin that inserts into the module. 3. Use another or new USB connector.
This list does not imply a specific order of diagnosis. Your fundamental problem is the failure to delive DC power to the Belkin hub or to capture the hub to USB port signal. In a phrase, you gotta short somewhere.not an issue with the computer or the XP operating system. Bill Miller

HP printer will not print over wireless network using Belkin hub

Try turning everything off, wait a couple of seconds and then turn it back on.  Also try disabling McAffee to test.  When you go to printers and faxes on the PC, what is the status of your printer?

External Harddrive Ignorance...

I've seen this happen with hubs being connected to external hard drives before.

Do you have a free usb port on the back of your computer you can plug it into?

That should fix the problem.

Wireless connection

I typed msc config into the run command and unticked the box that disables wireless zero (under the start tab). This requires a restart to take effect. I then unticked the 'let this utility manage the connection' box in the belkin utility and then started wireless zero. Windows then picked up the wireless connection and let me connect - no more problems. I also found there were some problems with signal levels but a small relocation of the router solved that one too.
