Question about Trendware TE100-MP1U Print Server
Laptop running Vista Basic, HP PSC-1350v USB printer, TrendNet TE100MP-1U print server.
I got this a couple of days ago and set it up. Worked fine, except when I turned off the laptop, I had to reconnect the printer when I turned the laptop back on. Today, I turned on the laptop and went to the TrendNet Control Center to connect the printer... the printserver icon and description that I would normally select to autoconnect is blinking! 2 sec on, 2 off. I cant see the printer icon and description at all. I have checked the user manual, trendnet knowledge base and other online forums, but none mention an intermittent icon. I don't even know how else to describe it. It's got to be some kind of error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole thing, same as the first time, same outcome.
Btw, my HP is on TN's list of approved printers and it worked for two days just fine. Any ideas?

Chances are the wireless portion of the trendnet software is not compatible with vista. I would uninstall the trendnet software or let windows control the wireless portion of it.
Check to see if you are using any encryption ie. wep or wpa or wpa-tsk. If you are then you will need to enter the network key in windows.

open the print server utility and the doc can be cancelled or deleted from there. (this is the server utility inthe toolbar at the bottom of a windows screen. failing this go to the printer shortcut and from control panel>printers> select printer and faxes>select the printer (open) >select "printer" from menu bar, pause printing,then cancel all documents. Afterthis you can delete printers that are excessivly created, or delete all of them and start again with only the one or two printers you need. even if one is for network use and the ther is direct connect. You canuse direct connect to verify proper printer operation until te100 is working properly

you have to give ip adress in the print server and configure it and one more thing is that ip address shougt be in the lan network

Sounds like you may be having an issue with software already installed on the laptop to control the wireless connection. Many laptops have preinstalled software for their internal wireless devices. You should consult your manual about configuring and saving passwords for a network for that particular device. Typically you will need to enter the WEP key in the software itself.

Make sure you don't have you modem properties in control panel set to auto time out or you mail set to disconnect after download.
