Re: wireless hardwear has been deleted need to fix it
the hardware is the actual wireless device/card. you need to re-install the software. This can be found at the manufacturers website. alternatively, you could try a system restore, to an earlier date. before the incident.

You need to check first if the wireless switch is turn on.If it is on, check the function key for the wireless. Some computers have function key. Sometimes it is combination of fn and f5. Press those keys at the same time and you should see a pop up window and check if the current status is on. If it is on, uninstall/reinstall the wireless driver in device manager. and restart your computer. If this didn't work. You need to do re installation of your operating system
delete preferred networks from the computer...try to scan and connect again...your problem will get fixed....
goto network and sharing center > manage wireless networks > select and delete networks already saved (for vista and win7)
goto wireless network connection > right click >click view available networks>left side click on change the order of preferred networks >select and delete all networks
now scan and connect......
your internet gateway (the modem)if you have att you must turn on the the wireless inside your 17XXhg gateway modem if you don't then you have another system I gave you a example to clear your question if you need more help please repost with more information
There are a couple of things that need to be deleted however if you contact the 800 number to the manufacturer's tech support, they will walk you through what you need to delete. Sometimes these things (I can not think of what they are called, I am sorry for that) get filled up and need to be deleted in order for the wireless to pick up a signal and connect to the internet.
Did the wireless icon from your machine light up? If no, you need to re-install your wi-fi driver. If you have the cds with you, re-install the driver then switched on your wi-fi. If you dnt have the cds, try checking on the HP site and look for the wi-fi driver.
uninstall the drivers for the wireless card then run windows live update the wireless card should be found and the drivers should d-load and then install themselves if that doesn't work try resetting your router or modem for the internet... sometimes certain computers in a house will receive a signal, and you might get the signal as well but the computers are messing around with the wireless... this happens more with belkin routers just restart the router and just run that one computer on the wireless network and it should start working. then you can allow all the other computers back onto the network
