The GPS does not read the SD card anymore. I switched to Garmin after trying rebooting, formatting.

I think it is better to stay with the name brands for GPS such as Garmin, Magellan, TomTom, Mio etc

Yes,

first do a backup of ure maps, then format the card , try all the possibilities , fat , fat32 , one of the must work , then after formating , put the maps back on the card , and the gps will read the card

What is the difference between GO 730 and Go 730 Live?

The TomTom LIVE (service) allows your device to access (& use) real time traffic information, weather info, fixed and mobile speed cameras, etc. to determine and offer you options to use an alternate (better/faster) route ... e.g. avoid traffic jams, etc.

I have purchased a navsgo go790 with a 16gb sd card and would like to load music. This unit came without any instructions on how to load music.my media player will not recconise the devise. Can you...

Connect your gps system via usb cable and then under "my computer" you must double click on your gps system. Then you should find a folder called mp3/mp4, music or something similar. You will need to copy music from your computer to that folder by copying and pasting it. It is not the most user friendly way to listen to music however it will work. If you are confused with these directions you may ask someone to help you install your music onto your gps using these instructions. Hope this helps.

Go 730 not sending a fm signal

Hi,

If you have made a recent update this may be the reason you may have lost your FM transmission!!

Tom Tom disabled silent FM transmission on these units to comply with the law in certain countries which prohibit these FM transmissions. Later updates configured the units to output lower strength FM transmissions.

There is a possible workaround for this - see this link for a discussion on the issue.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa

When u turn it on all it does is show the memory card beening removed and then croses it out

This is because the memory card was not formatted correctly ir is missing vital files.

If you backed up your gps then you could reformat the card properly (not ntfs) and then restore to it which would get you back up and running.

If you need it in a hurry then switch it off remove the sd card and re-boot. this should put you back on the factory defaults unless you made any changes prior to putting a card in.

For formatting advice see here or here
