Keypad problem All of a sudden the message "set clock" appeared. When you do, the time sets, but when you try to start the microwave, open the door, turn on the light or turn on the fan, the time disappears and the "set clock" message appears. When you open the door the message lights get very dim. The light inside the microwave is also very dim when you open the door. The fan and the lights undeneath the unit will not turn on. I unplugged the unit and then plugged it back in. No change.

The most likely causes are a bad door switch or a problem with the control panel assembly. You can find critical safety information plus our information file on checking and replacing door switches at our site, via our poisting here: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk If you need control panel repair, we do that for $32.50 nationwide.

How might I set the clock on toshiba er7900

There are different patterns to setting a microwave clokc, depnding on the brand

and age.

Try these combinations (both with the door open and with door closed) to set the

clock to 1:00:

Clock > 1 > 0 > 0 > Start

Clock > 1 > 0 > 0 > Clock

Clock > Clear > 1 > 0 > 0 > Start

Clear > Clock > 1 > 0 > 0 > Start

Samsung microwave displays press 1-4...

The SE indicates a short in the keypad membrane, but to cure this! the whole keypad control board should be changed if effort to resolve is decided, I would also suggest checking the pricing.

Just purchased our Cuisinart Stainless Microwave, plugged it in, read the operational instructions and set the clock. As a test, we tried to heat water....does not work. Any suggestions?

Yes! Take it right back to the store for exchange, cause could be a bad magnetron "that heats food" and a couple parts that work together with the magnetron,or there may be issues with the keypad, none of these will be cheap to fix.

Enter time of day. The time appears in the window; the colon continues to flash.

Keypad Problems

Sometimes a keypad may not work because the door switches are faulty. When the door switches are working correctly it will allow the keypad to operate. They tell the microwave that the door is closed and the unit is dafe to use.

Many models have 3 door switches, it's wise to get all 3 replaced at once.

Kenmore microwave

The Keypad is a Circuit. Each of the Function Buttons is a switch. The same "Touch" Techinology as is used of your TV Remote Control Pad or your Telephone. It would appear that your Keypad Circuit is Open, not allowing touch commands to reach the Control Board. The Keypad will have to be replaced. Best done by a Professional. I have seen "Rare" cases of a defective Door Switch causing such symptoms.
