Toshiba saltellite with internal harman kardon speakers, no sound

Toshiba satellite P205 S6277 has internal speakers. On laptop are written the words Harman/Kardon next to one of the speaker "faces." Computer detects No Audio Device. I have reinstalled and updated drivers. I purchased the laptop refurbished one year ago December. There is no sound through headset either.

Thank you! Thank you! The laptop belongs to my teen daughter, who is also very grateful.

Initially, it didn't work, but I rebooted about four times and bingo - we have sound!

I cant reformat my toshiba harman kardon?what seems to be the problem?

Try loading it into safe mode, to do this turn off your computer turn it back on and as it starts up hit F8 over and over until you get a black screen with white text that you can scroll through. Then look for something that says "Start windows in safe mode" and select that with the arrow keys to move and the enter button to select. If windows does not enter in safe mode, you may want to post clearer information as to what happens when it loads/doesn't load.

Is it possible repair a power supply of Harman Kardon?

You can certainly try replacing the capacitors, they should have the values written on them, but be aware they are glued/epoxied as well, to reduce vibrations..
My supply has also failed - after verifying that the speakers were otherwise functional (using a 19v supply and 16v regulator, which got pretty hot)), I ordered a new one from ebay for $26 shipped.

Toshiiba satellite p205 Internal Harmon Kardon Speakers Do Not Work

Most likely its a nardware problem.
If Device manager shows the audio driver is working and enabled and when you plug an headphone into the headphone/audio out and you only get sound from the right headphone then the audio amp chip is faulty.
If the headphone sounds OK then the easiest solution is to connect a set of powered speakers to your laptop.

Removing cover from speaker

pull off the cloth cover by using your nail or a screwdriver to get behind it. its simply a push fit cover.then you can acess the screws. there are 4 deep in the holes where the cloth covers connected to the speaker and there are 4 holding the actual speaker to the face that are plainly visible once cloth front cover is removed.

Sound sticks II

My problem is fixed now. I plugged the speakers into the earphone socket. There was no immediate effect just silence. I twiddled the control on the bass unit, played with the volume controls on the sticks. Then I realised the sound was back with the external speakers not the internal ones. It was as though the Harman Kardon system was re-booting itself. Very weird.

use a clear silicone based sealant (similar to the type used for caulking and in fish tanks) I'm guessing you used CA or superglue, and thats what melted your plastic, you're using too much also most likely.
