The unit is about 11 years old and over the past six months has given us a lot of grief. Somedays it operates just fine. Others, it may or may not open/close using the remote transmitters. I have tried everything I know to do... which isn't a lot. I cleared out the codes in the remotes (both the hand held transmitters and the HomeLink in my wife's Pacifica) and I have tightened the sensors on the tracks. Still the smae problem. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have an answer... short of replacing YET ANOTHER thing in this house?! In the past two year have replaced HVAC, water heater, dishwasher, stove, fixed dryer, fixed refrigerator, gee, what else? :)

Will the remotes work in the garage? If yes but not outside with the door closed you might have radio interferace with your remotes. You might have to chage to a your reciever and remotes to a different brand (frequency). Sometimes it is less trouble to change out the operator. Chamerlain changed frequency from 390 (old) to 315 (new).

what keypad are you using with new opener? Frequency has changed. can't use old one. you probably never needed to change things; just needed to follow proper coding procedures.

The old transmitters are 390 mhz and will not program. I need more info on what you are doing to solve the homelink problem. Your vehicle's owners manual should show how to program. Then press learn button and within 20 sec press and hold homelink button that you programmed.

Your keypad is not the same "generation" as your remotes. You operator will work with your security plus remotes or your old keypad but not both. Yor cheapest solution is to replace your keypad.
