Question about Canon Pixma iP6000D InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Color issues I have had a Canon Pixma iP6000d for a couple of years and I get great, vivid outdoor landscape pix (almost too blue) and indoor shots, with or without flash portrait type pix always need to be adjust for proper colors. I've had this problem since day 1 and as I print more and more pix, I've become more and more frustrated with the problem. I use premium Canon paper and ink exclusively. Having to print numerous test pictures prior to printing the finished photo is very time consuming and expensive. I have started taking big jobs (vacations, parties, etc.) to Target or Wallmart, etc and the pictures are usually cheaper to print and colors are much closer to actual colors. This printer wasn't cheap and I hate not to use it, but it's becoming more and more frustrating and I am close to replacing it with a much cheaper HP. Any ideas???

My Canon Pixma ip6000d isn't printing any images or text. There is plenty of black ink, I ran the tests for alignment and nozzle check. The paper feeds through fine and it sounds and acts as tho

Did you try a test print. Most printers have a option to set the ink color, this is done when your computer asks you if you want to print. Look for an options tab and search for ink color options pick black only and try a test print. The test print is done on printer set up. If all else fails try the manual it usually has a troubleshoot section. Oh yes make sure you have the correct usb port some are configured at a lower level ( mine has 2 different ones a 2.0 and a 3.0 the 3.0 is blue when you look inside of it) my 2.0 port wouldn't set up my printer I had to use the 3.0 port. Hope it helps you some!

Lost manuel to canon powershot A630 and I wanted to know how to take a black and white picture.

By pressing the center button on the four-way controller, you'll open up the Function menu. This menu has the following options:
  • ISO speed (Auto, High ISO Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800) -
  • White balance (Auto, daylight, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent, fluorescent H, underwater, custom) -
  • Drive (Single-shot, continuous, self-timer [2 or 10 sec, custom] -
  • My Colors (Off, vivid, neutral, sepia, black & white, positive film, lighter skin tone, darker skin tone, vivid blue, vivid green, vivid red, custom color) -
  • Flash exposure compensation (-2EV to +2EV in 1/3EV increments) - in manual mode you can adjust the flash strength in three steps (1/3, 2/3, full)
  • Metering (Evaluative, center-weighted, spot)
  • Compression
  • Resolution

Blue skies

Things to consider regarding "blue skys"... Time of day (Sunlight has different color spectrum mix & kelvin temp as the dawn passes on to night. Atmospheric conditions - humidity, ozone, smoke/dust - all filter the colors White Ballance - Do a manual WB before shooting each series. Camera - different sensors are not created equal. One may play more to the blue end, another towards flesh tones. Lens systems, filters affect it too. Many say a good polorizer is one of the best investments for outdoor photos Display media - Monitors need to be color balanced to accurately portray "what you shot". Likewise, color print labs do best with digital files tuned to their specific hardware profiles.
