1999 Mecury Mountaineer 5.0 V-8, runs great from starting cold for 5 minutes while driving then shuts off. It will start back but within minutes it will shut down again. This will constatntly occur. i have replaced the fuel pump and filter, the crankshaft sensor, adjusted the timing and it still does. What can you tell me to help, anyone please?

When you remove your thermostat check the number stamped on the thermostat. In cold weather you want a high number and opposite cold weather. Right back with number
Could be a number of things and the information is a little vague. Does it do it when cold, warm, after driving for a distance etc. It might pay to have some one run a diagnostic machine on it. The cost for the test could actually save you money. Just make sure they have a good reputation.
Cat. converter probably pluged. Mine did same today. Mechanic who tow my car said likely cause. I can hear fuel pump running, recent change fuel filter will check fuel pressure. But I will try emissionwiz fit too.
