I have an island with no vent. Rather than a cook top I have a stove and would like to install a downdraft vent (30"). I've yet to find a downdraft that indicates it can be used on a gas stove. Is such a vent made?

I saw the answer on I want that kitchens! HGTV's show; however, I can't find it now. Anyone know how to find this?

I am building a new house, the stove is on a in size wall with a bedroom over the stove. We want to put a hood as our vent system over the stove, we need to have a good air sucking system to move the air, it is a open floorplan. Is there anyway to go up and make a turn to the floor to take the vented air out. The kitchen is on the front of the house. We need to go down and the out the front or back. Building a house and plan to install a gas slide in. I want to utilize a downdraft system because I want no overhead obstruction(s) as we are both very tall. Haven't found a manufacturer yet who will seriously address the issue.
