I have a salt water pool which with a robot cleaner has been brilliant for the past three years. this year taking the cover off, we leaked alot of dirty surface water in. with a lot of cleaning the water looks fine and levels are good - however, the robot interior bag is picking up lots of algae and i am having to scrub stains off the floor - normally by now, i would not have to do this. should i put some chemical anti-algae solution in (i have never added any chemicals to date). thanks in advance

Check the Ph levels - if it is way above 7 then it is too alkaline and it promotes algae growth. Add acid to bring the Ph level down to 7. Also after adjusting the Ph level then add anti-algae solution.
You can also add shock chlorine powder to the water to speed up the process.

SOURCE: Pool had a lot of

First I'm assuming we're talking about a sand filter. Back washing is the right thing if pressure increases.A 8-10psi pressure increase is the magic number where you must backwash. Be sure to run a rinse cycle too before returning to filter. If you want to clean filter you can buy chemicals that you add to your skimmer as you backwash. Follow their directions. If you do want to drain the water, open your basket cover on the pump and remove plug, this will allow air to enter the filter, so it will drain. It drains slowly. Not really necessary, except to winterize.l

Can I leave my summer waves above ground pool 16x32' up all winter?

If you leave it up, drain down past flow lines. We use a tarp. It will still get dirty and green, and is hard to clean in 72* degree water. Takes a long time to warm up. Sometimes we leave it up, mostly we clean out and take down, to level yard next year.( moles, sides sinking, or damage to rusted legs. I personally would take it down. Start fresh. Mine is salt water, 9 X 18 and have had it for nine years. Good luck.

Nitro wall climber does not move sits at bottom of pool

Plug it in! :o)

Okay, assuming you have...do you get red or green lights on at the power supply? If so...that means:

1. you could have a connection problem between the power supply and the Nitro. You can check connectivity using a simple volt-ohm meter. Replacement cords can be purchased online.
2. One, or both of your drive motors are dead...usually, this because water enters the drive units. Replacing the motors is expensive...$140 or so for the front-wheel drive unit, and $185 for the big one in the center. But even then, these prices you have to search for...

Is it worth it? Hmmm, maybe...Robot cleaners are way too expensive...for what you get. So replacing motors every few years is better than paying $400 - $1000 every few years. These pool cleaners, like old cars, you can keep them going and going by replacing parts.

I am really happy with my Nitro...I put it in my 11,000 gallon pool about 3 times a month, and remove and clean the little guy out right after he is done. Then he goes in the storage rack out of the sun....and he is quite happy.

I used to leave him in the pool, for weeks at a time, and that was when I started running into problems with the motor units leaking...water has a LOT of pressure and is always trying to get in the motor units...and eventually it does. It;s been more than a year since I repaired the seal on my main motor, and replace the drive motor...and I expect a long life out of mine, which is now more than 3 years old and running strong.

Robo - Kleen Above Ground Robotic Pool Cleaner seems to be leaking oil? Also, fan does not seem to be running all the time?

Motor is in oil bath. When it leaks that means water is getting into motor housing. Try and take apart to clean and dryout. Then needs to be sealed and filled with oil. This worked with mine not sure what type oil. Looks like mineral oil or something similar.

We found out tpday that we have 19 leaks in our inground pool liner which is not quite 2 years old!! The only thing we've changes this year is we purchased a Barracuda Robotic pool cleaner. Have you ever...

It will have a strong suction to the pool floor and could grind bits of sand into the liner. You might want to try a Arneson Pool Vac.
Be sure they put cork feet on it though so it goes easy on the liner.
If and when you replace the liner be sure to put an under-liner down first. This will help with problems that run along these lines.

When trying to set a cycle on the salt water system, three beeps sound when the up button is pressed. Ditto for the down button. I can't get past this to set a cycle. Any thoughts?

try unpluging and and wait a few minutes to reset.
If that does not work if your system is less than 2 years old and you have the receipt you can call intex for a free replacement

They will e-mail you a form fill it out and fax back to them

You will have a new unit at your door in a few days

I am having to add salt daily to keep salt level at 3000. Why is salt level not holding longer?

you possibly have a leak in the pool. Friend of mine was dumping a 100lbs of salt in his pool each week. Problem solved when they found out he had a crack (causing 4-5 inches of water to leak in a 24 hour period). This allowed alot of the salt to leave the pool. What remained was used by his saltwater system to create chlorine.

Having problems with my dolphin diagnostic explorer robotic pool

Your motor unit was covered for up to 3 year under warranty. Confirm your warranty status at http://www.maytronicsus.com/en-US/home/homepage/ and perhaps the repairs are still covered.
