Question about Frigidaire 24 in. PLD2560LCC Energy Star® Built-in Dishwasher

Water does not flow into the spray arms but water is on

When I start the normal wash cycle water enters washer via left valve to fill tub, once tub reaches a certain level it seems the water should then flow through the spray arms but at this point an unusual motor noise is heard and nothing occurs in dishwasher. I have removed and cleaned the glass trap and filter and watched the water flow in through this side valve and get pumped out (multiple attempts to get this working). I confirmed the water valve is on. Perhaps the water intake valve is clogged?

SOURCE: water not going through spray arms

Have same problem except big motor spins independent of stripped? impeller. tried to reassemble but seems mechanical or adhesive agent misssing from one shaft or the other and the motor spins the impeller (now tight) only to have it slip off again and stop pumping water.

I found on my first dishwasher the arm holes were plugged. I had to clean out each and every hole with a small wire. They would not even turn until I cleaned them God luck.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Dishwasher - Spray Arm Not Working

When a dishwasher has been checked for obstructions in the sump area and the spray arms can spin easily (by hand) plus the spray arm holes are not blocked, you end up with either a broken impeller or a failing wash pump motor.

If you would like more details of have more questions, please post comment back here, OK?

Good Luck!

SOURCE: top rack not cleaning and spray arm possibly not moving

I removed the lower arm, the strainer, and three screws (Torx, but I used small allen wrench). I took of the pump cover, and found a small white ball blocking the tube that goes to the top rack sprayer. I put everything back except the ball. It has worked well ever since.

An E11 error indicates a problem with the incoming water. The error will occur if the tub doesn't fill normally in about 8 minutes. This could be related to closed shut-off valves, failing anti-flood hoses, or debris in filters in the hoses or at the inlet valve on the washer. It could also come from a fault with the sensor that detects the weight of the washer tub, a problem with the reed switch that tracks water flow into the washer, the air tube that goes to the reed switch or a failure of the inlet valve. It can even indicate that the end of the drain hose is below the water level in the washer and is siphoning water out as the tub fills.

If no water or a trickle of water is reaching the tub, first make sure that the shut-off valves are open. Next close the valves and disconnect the hoses. Place the hoses into a bucket and check the water flow by opening the shut-off valves. Shut off the valves. Clean the filters, including those in the inlet of the washer. Reconnect the hoses or replace them with new ones if there was low flow. (Check the flow at the shut-off valves themselves with a similar bucket under the valve opening, if you can.) If these steps don't work, you need to replace the inlet valve assembly. It failed in the closed position.

If water is filling the tub normally and flowing out the drain, check the drain hose position. If the tub is filling and is held in the tub, then the washer isn't correctly measuring the water flow. Check the reed switch and that tubing by blowing into the tube. Replace a faulty switch and remove any blockages from the tubing. Check the wiring harness to ensure that the message got to the control board.

See http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-number/41741122310/0582/0153200.html for parts diagrams and price lists. You need the control panel diagram.

I hope this helps.

HI,

The problem can be with not enough water to get the arm to spin. To test this just add a pan of water to the wash cycle and see if the arm spins. If it does then the problem may be with the water intake line. There is a screen at the connection where the intake line enters the dishwasher. So turn the supply valve off and disconnect the intake line and remove particles that may be traped in the screen. The cause of the particles is from the hot water tank that tend to accumulate a bit of corrosion on the bottom of tank. To remedy this just open the valve at the bottom of the hot water tank and drain it in a pan until the water is clear.

WASHER DOES NOT AGITATE OR CYCLE AFTER WATER FILL

If your Top Load Washer is Over Flowing Check the Following it is possible that the Water Inlet Valve is faulty.
First check to see if water is entering the machine when it is shut off if it is,replace water inlet valve. If no water enters the machine when it is shut off the water inlet valve is not the problem.

Pressure Switch
The pressure switch controls the level of water in your washing machine. This does this by a small chamber on the side of the tub, this chamber fills with water wich in turns creates pressure in the chamber. There is a hose connected to this chamber that runs up to the switch. When the right amount of pressure is applied to the switch it stops the water flow. If the hose becomes clogged up, gets punctured or cracks and leaks the hose will need to be cleaned or replaced. If the hose looks good and has no holes check the pressure switch by checking it for continuity when blowing on the end of the hose. This will close the switch and simulate pressure. If you have no continuity when the switch is closed replace the pressure switch, this video will walk you thru replacing and testing.

Water flows constantly during the spin cycle

Servicing Water Inlet ValvesIf the washer won't fill or fills very slowly, if it overfills, or if the water is the wrong temperature, the water inlet valves could be faulty. These components are easy to locate and very easy to replace, at little cost. When you suspect an inlet valve is faulty, first check to make sure the water faucets are fully turned on and properly connected to the hot and cold inlets of the valves. Then check the screens in the valves; if they're clogged, clean or replace them. If water doesn't enter the tub, set the temperature control to the HOT setting. If there is no water, set the control to the WARM setting. If all that comes out is cold water, the hot-water inlet valve is faulty. Reverse the procedure to test the cold-water valve, setting the control first on COLD and then on WARM. If the tub overfills, unplug the washer. If water still flows into the tub, the valve is stuck open. In any of these cases, the valves should probably be replaced.

your fill switch is either bad or "gllitched" and the timer cannot move until this switch senses the right amount of water for the load unless its an electronically sensed water/load capacity filled machine, when it starts, the water fills the unit and the pressure switch shuts the water fill off when at selected water level and powers the timer to continue the wash cycle,it works off a "bellows" on air pressure to change a switch by air pressure to operate the machine when full of water

I have exactly the same problem. I am currently getting around the issue by letting the machine do the washing then at the end of that cycle do a manual rinse cycle.

Washing Machine Keeps Filling with Water through Detergent dispen

This machine has a water valve that works on vaccuum from the tub. You will see a small clear hose that runs from the side of the tub up to this valve. This valve is adjustable to change the water level in the tub to desired setting on some machines, but if it goes bad, it will not shut off, thus overflowing the tub. Find this valve and replace it if adjustment does not work.

The dishes especially on the top are not cleaning. Soap doesn't completely dissolve. Not rinsing clean?

sound like plugged spray arms or not proper water fill when the starts is there proper water in the tub if so cancel it and start again if the valve fails to fill again at least 3 times in a row then the valve is bad and the winding make contact after it cool once for one fill and fails through out the normal wash cyc

GE Dishwasher - poor cleaning

I believe there is a screen/filter on the water line before or at the water fill valve. If that gets plugged it can restrict the flow. The fill valve can also fail/get plugged and restrict the flow.
Also, dishwashers usually have a level sensor to tell when there is enough water to do the wash. It may be a float inside the tub that operates a mechanical switch or it may have a hose to a pressure sensor. Either type can get greasy/dirty/plugged and as a result cause improper water levels.
Check both the water supply filter/fill valve and the level sensor. One or both of those may be involved.

My maytag neptune washer stop washing with 10 minutes left to go.

If your machine is a FAV6800AWW or FAV9800AWW the (upside down u and f) may be a “NF” for no fill error. The washer has tried to fill the machine with water and has sensed a water fill issue. The control board has shut the wash cycle down with an “NF” error to the display because of excess time to complete the water fill portion of the wash cycle.
Will the machine complete the cycle with Hot water only or Cold water only? I would do a Quick Wash cycle just to test with an empty wash basket.
Regardless of the above test and assuming you have good water pressure for both Hot and Cold supplies to the washer I would do the following. Close the water source valves to the washer and remove the Hot and Cold hose connections at the back of the machine and check for clogged inlet screens. If the water inlet screens are free of restrictions I would go into Service Mode and turn on the Hot and Cold water valves on one at a time and make sure the tub will fill with about 2 inches of water in about 3 minutes in service mode. Check both Hot and Cold inlet valves individually see page 16 of the SM Board Output Test, enter service mode and do the function test for both Hot and Cold Water Valve’s. If the inlet screens are clean and you have water fill restrictions in service mode we may need to look at replacing the water inlet valve assembly. You can turn on the drain pump in service mode to empty the tub or just start a wash cycle and the machine will empty the tub.
