Re: Microphone

Hi, you might need to reinstall the driver. Go into Systems and device manager. Check there are none with a Yellow question mark. Failing this double click on audio and reinstall, it will tell you if drive is ok. Hope this helpd.

Re: Microphone

Go to sound and audio devices in control panel, click on the voice tab and click test hardware. There is normally a microphone boost in notebooks with built in microphone which may need to be enabled.

Hi,my built in microphone not working ,on laptop aspire 6930g can you help me,i am not very good with computer

I think you are using Windows XP.
Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Volume Control
See if there is slider for Microphone & Mute button.
If it is not then go to Options - Properties in Volume Control Menu
Make a check mark against Microphone. Say OK.
You will find the Microphone slider & Mute button.
Remove the check mark against Mute if it is there & advance the Microphone slider control to your required level. Your microphone is ready for use.

Microphone not working

Go into your device manager which is located in the control panel under system. Then go under audio devices or it might be labeled multimedia devices and find the microphone listed. Right click and press remove. Confirm removal and restart the computer. The microphone driver should now automatically reinstall.

ALSO, dont forget to check the volume settings of your microphone in the master volume settings. It is possible the microphone is just muted.

Microphone not workingon aspire 4720 z

You must provide more information please but to assist with troubleshooting this issue ( I am assuming that you have a regular microphone input that is a 1/8 inch plug.
1. Test the microphone in another pc to see if you get a response. If so then the issue is in the Windows volume control window.
2.Click the volume control icon in (usually lower right corner of the screen. will then see a slider bar and a mute box and the word "mixer" should be visible.
4. Click the "Mixer" link and you will see tabs captioned as General ,customer ,levels, (your sound card name), and advanced. Click the "advance) tab this will show you what is muted or checked for mute.
5. If there is a check or is is muted for you microphone then click or un check or deselect it. Then try your microphone. You should here audio.
6. click apply or OK and this will set the microphone to activate

I downloaded skype on my HP Pavilion to talk to my daughter at college. We can see each other & I can hear her, but she can't hear me. I don't know how to get my internal microphones to work. Please...

You can try this, it might be the problem. The microphone is by default, muted. The Skype program "should" un-mute it, but sometimes the notebooks mic is not fully compliant. So, to manually un-mute the microphone, go into the volume control panel by double clicking the speaker icon in the system tray. If the microphone section is not displayed toward the right, you'll have to activate it in the Options|Properties menu item. Put a check mark in the box beside microphone. Remove the check mark in the mute box under microphone.

So basically, i tried webcamming my friend thats in Germany, and she couldnt hear me, and i tried testing on my skype test call thing, and they said that my microphone on my laptop might be muted. I have...

go to Tools => Options => Audio Settings, see Microphone Volume, uncheck Automatically adjust microphone settings, adjust volume manually, test mic if green line showing up. To check if mic is muted, when calling contact in the calling window point on mic if it says Unmute microphone click on it, if it says Mute microphone it's already unmuted.

How can i set up the microphone on my acer ( aspire 3680 )

Go to Start - Control Panel - Sound - Recording - Recording and you will see a list of connected devices. Check that the Microphone is live and has a green tick and also that the driver name is present. Double click or Right Click the Microphone for setup options. If it is not working you may have to reinstall the sound driver.

If this is not working then check Start - Control Panel - Device Manager - Sound, Video and Game Controllers to see if there ay alerts or errors (highlighted in Yellow and Red respectively).

Also check Start - Control Panel - Device Manager - System Devices to see if there ay alerts or errors (highlighted in Yellow and Red respectively).

If there are no errors then you should be able to use the microphone successfully.

The volume may be muted. In Windows, look at the volume control icon on the taskbar. If it is crossed-out, click on the icon and deselect the Mute option.

• The volume level may be too low. In Windows, click on the volume control icon on the taskbar, and then use the slider control to increase the volume level.

• If headphones are connected to the headphone jack on the computer, your computer's built-in speakers will be turned off.

I skpe using my Asus, and my microphone does not work. The other party can't do I solve this please

Are you sure that this laptop has a build in microphone? or are you using a external microphone?

in either case the most likely problem is that the skype sound settings on the input are wrong.

open skype, tools, options, then the audio settings page.
On the microphone, try all the possible options offered and see if it detects your voice, you can also try calling the skype test number / echo123.

When you see the volume bar light up green like this as you speak or tap the microphone its working.

If you are using a external microphone, are you sure you have it on the right slot? Try the other plugs on the laptop and then go over the options again and see if you get sound.

You should also check from volume control that the microphone is not muted.

To check that open up start -> control panel -> sounds -> recording -> select the microphone and click properties -> check the levels tap and make sure its not muted and its turned up to full volume.

also some microphones have a on off switch on the wire, make sure its turned on.

By now you should be able to talk on skype.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
