After working fine for 10 minutes picture starts shifting horizontally and then it looses sync. I can only see flickering after that.

Some component is drifting after it gets warmed up. This would take a qualified technician to resolve this issue. If the TV is still under the 1 year warranty they would fix it for free!

Mitsubishi v5 50501a projection tv flickering

Its a older set so most likely bad or poor solder connections may have developed on the circuit boards, it comes with age and is rather common and not too hard to fix.

After a period of time, vertical lines appear on the screen. Looks like jail bars. Sometimes turning the TV off, then back on will clear it. All channels. I replaced the projection bulb about 6 months...

no solution, same sounding problem though. last year we were getting lines through the screen and flickering and then the bulb burned out. had it replaced, 2 months later it did it again (they wouldn't stand behind the bulb so we had to buy a whole new one) this time had the bulb and ballast replaced because the repair guy said usually you have to replace both (why didn't they replace them both in the first place?) .. a year later and it's doing it again.. we get the flickering of the screen going on and off and horizontal lines that flicker across it. after turning the TV off and on a few times it seems to go away (or after it warms up)

i know know if i should order another bulb and ballast and spend the money for it to happen again or if it could be something else

let me know if you find a solution.. carolynspranger@gmail.com

Tv picture is jumping

Unfortunately, JVC service manuals are not usually available outside of Authorized service centers. That being said, anyone that services TVs should have seen similar symptoms on other sets and should be able to "fix" this one even without a schematic. Call around. In the meantime, I'll look into this a bit more.

Sounds like the 1000uf capacitors on the FMT board need replacing. This is a common symptom with that chassis. There are three 1000uf caps that fail on that PC Board

From what you're describing your focus block is probably failing JVC p/n#129P059050. It's probably also very vibration sensitive. They're about $80.00 dollars and they are also interchangeable with the Mitsubishi focus pack p/n#920p016010. Not a difficult repair - we do about 5-6 a month. Real easy in-home repair. Hope this helps. Bill
