Hi again , I found your original problem, ok , so you can start windows in safe mode , well , follow this steps :

the file I gave you is compressed , so you have to extract it using winzip program ( this prog. in your computer) . just double click on the file I sent you , it will automatically go to winzip program, then extract it and save the extracted original file under any place in your computer for example (my document ) .
so now the original file under folder my document ,
right click mouse on the original file, and choose copy .

then,
1- go to my computer, then click on C: , you will find many folders and files .
2- find a folder name WINDOWS , press on it
3- you will find again under windows many files and folder ,
4- on this page , there is a menu bar up there, click on (edit) then choose (paste) .
that's it . then shut down your computer, and turn on again, please note that dont choose restart, choose shutdown completely, then you turn it on again after 2 seconds .

hope it is clear, if you need anything please rewrite again , or if you dont understand any of the above step, please dont hesitate to ask me...
wish you good luck .

Keyboard for lenovo R500 laptop not working

What do you mean not working? Is it that certain keys don't work, or the whole keyboard does not work?

Maybe your keyboard has been hijacked by a virus. Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode to see if it works?

Turn off the computer, then hit the power buttonto turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly untilyou see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. SafeMode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the iconsbigger, this is normal

Cant get to f8 screen

LOL, most times those recovery CD's don't work. OK, I've never heard of hitting F8 to get to the System Recovery screen. Normally hitting F8 repeatedly after you hit the power button gets you into SAFE MODE or some other options for booting. I would remove the CD from the cd drive and turn off the computer, then turn it on and immediately hit F8 until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option. Let it boot up. Safe mode will look different than normal windows. The icons will be bigger and the screen darker, but that's normal. Once safe mode is up click Start/Program/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Run System Restore and select a restore point (date and time) before you started having a problem. Don't worry, system restore does not destroy your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

System Recovery DELETES EVERYTHING and sets your computer back to when it was first purchased. If you must run System Recovery F8 is not the key you should be pressing.

I found the info below by putting "Alienware PC Systems M7700 System Recovery" in a google search. Sounds like you bought yourself a piece of trash.
25. System Restore And Recovery Is Not For Wimps The system restore process for the Alienware Aurora M7700 is definitely not for beginners. For one thing, the process doesn't fire off automatically as promised (at least that's what we read on the label affixed to the recovery CD included with the unit). Instead, system restore involves a complete Windows XP Home reinstall "from scratch." Likewise, the drivers don't reside on the Master CD as described in the documentation. Rather, they're located on the Utility CD. During the driver installation phase, it's irritating to get no progress report on individual drivers, perhaps by way of a simple progress bar. Also irksome, the system reboots automatically after the installation of each individual driver. Finally, those who want to succeed at restoring the M7700 back to full operability better know what a disk partition is and understand that the RAID driver must be installed from a diskette.

How do you get to safe mode for toshiba

Debra,

There are a couple of methods to get to Safe Mode on a PC.

The first and established method of getting Safe Mode to pull up is to turn the computer off all of the way. Then turn the computer back on and immediately start tapping the F8 key on the keyboard. (Don't hold the key down, but instead press it over and over.) This should bring you to a Safe Mode menu to choose which option to boot into.

If you have pressed the F8 key and the computer still attempts to boot to regular windows, you can press and hold in the power button to turn the computer off and retry the F8 option.

The other, less established method of forcing a computer into safe mode is to turn the computer on, wait until you see the Windows logo start to load, and then press and hold in the power button to force a shutdown. Doing this twice in a row should result in the safe mode prompt on the third boot up attempt.

Hope this info helps!

How to start in safe mode?

While the computer is initially booting up, press F8 (repeatedly if necessary), you should be presented with a selection screen to boot into safe mode (various levels such as with or without networking) or to boot normally. The F8 key only works while the computer is going through the BIOS startup procedure.
