Question about Philips Televison & Video

My DVD kitchen radio with LCD-TV has poor picture quality at times. You have to turn the TV screen around to find an acceptable picture. Its a great set but the problem with picture quality is disappointing. Thanks, Brian

Its due to faulty electic components on the main board and the board needs to be checked.

Check that there is no Microwave or any large appliance that is disturbing the signal, change TV position and if this is not eenough, get a amplified antenna.

Large appliances, like fridges and freezers, ovens etc. can cause disturbance to your TV, particularlyy if the aerial, or the antenna cable is passing near to a compressor or to a big AC power supply.

Microwave ovens can disturb the signal even from distance.

Try to find a good position inside your kitchen for this nice TV set.

If you are using an internal aerial, buy an amplified tv aerial, they start at about $15.

Apex Digital LD4088 LCD TV has horrible quality on cable but fine quality with dvd or ps3

try if you are not, routing signal for comcast via the rear AV jacks--if poor reception that way not the set but the incoming signal.

Most people who are paying for cable or whatever do not complain hard enough--just accept lousy signal and pay for it.

If its poor complain and keep complaining----in most cases there are alternate signal providers eager to jump in.

Pls. check your antenna line if it is still connected. Blue screen happens only if your

Poor picture quality on cable input

Try swapping some cables around, like the skart lead from the dvd(if scart) for the cable one, if the picture problem swaps with the lead then thats the problem. If it doesn't try settings on the cable and tv, if the cable is sending nvbs signals and the tv is set to pal then this can also occur.

Poor picture quality & audio reception

If the input to a HD tv is not in HD format the tv won't display an image very well. Be sure your input to the tv is compatible with the tv's technology for optimum performance quality Also re-check the input source (such as converter box, dvd player, etc..) and be sure you have the correct input/output ports connected properly. Try to reset all yout tv settings back to manufacturers defult specs. When an input signal is sent to the tv most modern tv's have software built in to select the proper format to display the input image. There may have been a mismatch communication error when your tv software tried to "handshake" with your converter box input signals from its firmware. So try a reset solution and re-connect the tv without the converter and see if that helps. If not e-mail me and I'll determine if the tv needs technical servicing.

Samsung le40a lcd - picture quality

Hi - I have some suggestions. The following factors effect picture quality:
1. Source (because LCD TVs have much higher picture quality than traditional CRT "Tube" TVs, the worse your source material, the worse it looks on a LCD TV).
DVD and Sky/Digital TV should look excellent on this TV when connected with a good quality Scart lead (nothing too expensive, but a Oxygen Free Copper Gold lead may help) directly into one of the TV's Scart inputs (avoid using "switching" boxes for multiple equipment).
Also, bear in mind that this is a HUGE screen (40 inches I think) and will REALLY show up bad source material.
The best advice I can give is, if you have HD-ready equipment use HDMI connections for everything (ideally with an HD-uplscaling DVD player which will "improve" the quality of standard DVDs on the TV - I recommend models by Philips) and check that you are in "Movie" or "Cinema" mode on the TV.
Make sure that all of your equipment, like your Sky digibox, is set to 16:9 mode (not 4:3) aswell to preserve the true widescreen aspect ratio.
Hope that helps!

Diagonal lines and ghost images

You may have a bad flyback transformer (high voltage trans former). The lines you're seeing are retrace lines caused by the picture tube screen set too high. This is often caused by the screen control opening up. This control is part of the flyback.
