Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

1 Answer

Quitting game when i go to the quit screen the direction button does not respond for me to choose 'yes'. Also now the games all load but while playing most things do not function or everything is slow eg when it comes to the character or vehicle that i am supposed to controlling they all move slowly or don't move at all.

Re: quitting game

Let me get this right, if you power off the PSP and turn it on everything is in slow-motion and dragging? or It does this after you try to quit?

The problem, as you describe, is exactly that! One of your buttons is stuck down in the pressed position. If you press Home and the screen comes up asking you if you want to quit and a button is already pressed down, you will not be able to press X to confirm yes or no.

You didn't specify which PSP you have, 1001, 2001, or 3001, but the following website sells the part you need to fix this issue. They also perform repairs if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. It's a pretty cheap and straightforward part to replace:

Hi. Since you're in UMD Autoload mode, you need to configure that in the PSP Settings. To do this, turn off your PSP and remove your UMD. Now, turn it back on and it won't autoload your UMD since it wasn't there anymore.
Now, go to "Settings" and scroll down to "System Settings" and press X. Scroll down again the selection until you see "UMD Auto-Start" and press X. At the right side will appear the options "ON" and "OFF". Select "OFF" and press O button several times to go back to main screen.
Insert your UMD. Now, try playing games from Memory Stick. You may have to turn off your PSP and turn it on again to finally play homebrew...
I hope this helps...

it could be that someone pushed the button in too hard and it wont pop back up because even if you lightly touch it, it could go to that screen
