sound on U305-7448 just stopped working. worked in past but just quit

    for no reason

  • Anonymous Apr 04, 2009

I downloaded and installed "Realtek Audio Driver for Windows Vista (v6.0.1.5473; 11-12-2007; 18M)" and it worked, but a couple days later the audio STOPPED WORKING again. I've even tried using system restore (multiple times)--it works initially and then the audio stops working once again.

I know that I'm not the only one with this type of problem. Toshiba continues to insist, however, that WE are the ones doing something wrong. Clearly they need to get their sh-t straight and fix THEIR mistakes.

I'm not getting any sound either!

Reinstalling the drivers only solves the problem for an hour and then my sound goes out again! DAMN YOU TOSHIBA!

Im trying to fix my sound and it keeps telling me im missing rtl100.pbl i have no idea what thta is or even how to fix it

It sounds like you need to install or re-install the sound drivers for this particular notebook.
In order to do this, you'll need to download the drivers from the Toshiba support web site.
You will need to go to the support web site for your model of notebook and click the "Downloads" tab.
From the "Downloads" find the category "Driver Sound" and then find the driver for the version of Windows that you are running (Vista, XP, 7, etc.)
Download the driver and any support software to your desktop. Once downloaded, double-click on each file to start the setup program.
Follow the directions of the wizard and reboot your system after installation is complete.

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://www.toshiba.com and click "support" or "download". Enter your model-number, and see if their web-site contains "audio" device-drivers for Windows XP.

Probably, having more RAM would make VMWARE run faster.

Check the manufacturer's web-site -- surely, they have a version which *DOES* work as a "native" application under Windows XP and Windows VIsta and Windows 7, i.e., no need for "compatibility settings".
