Question about Umax POWERLOCK 1000 Flatbed Scanner
I'm running 2 Mac's both using MacOS 10.4.8. The scanner was connected to one Mac via FireWire. Then I connected my second computer to the scanner via USB. (The scanner has both ports). It worked once. The next time I wanted to scan on any computer I get the Message that it can't find the scanner. Something got screwed up when I used the USB port. Does anyone know what I should do? Is there any kind of software out there that can help? I disconected everything and uninstalled the scannig software (SilverFastSE) and reinstalled it & rebooted & reconnected and nothing helps. If anyone can help it would be appreeciated. Thanks much Hersh Weingarten Brooklyn, NY
Try resetting your nvram file (requires restart into command line mode) Follow the instructions on this page:
I had a hellacious problem with my firewire on my previous mac with a powerlook 1100 - and NOTHING I did seemed to fix it... but this worked in a snap!
