I had this exact problem with my Feb 2009 Territory. The dealer said it sometimes happens when moisture gets into the central locking system. They pulled the door apart, cleaned and dried everything overnight, and the problem went away.
Assuming that the battery mentioned above is the Key Fob battery?
The usual solution to the key fob not working the Central Locking after battery replacent is to remove the car battery feed fuse to the Central Locking (or disconnect the car battery ) for 10 minutes...replace it..... then it should work OK
note: If you disconnect the Car Battery then make sure you have the radio security code. If not then POST A NEW QUESTION quoting your radio Serial Number (usually begins with M * * * * * * )
Manual unlock door start car. The car battery was low and could not respond to key. If it win't start charge or jump it. Do not disconnect the battery unless you have to some systems require special codes for radios and other equipment. You may have to get the auto club to open the door for the hood release and jump you there. I don't feel bothe remotes batterys went bad at the same time but. The last resort is to change one and try it. Don't expect radio shack to replace your battery for your remote try calling a locksmith or the dealarship. Some dealerships are quite helpful...depends on where you live.
i, i get this all the time, had lots of old transits. get as many ford keys as you can borrow friends from escort mondeo transit, these locks are **** some 1s key will open it, when doors are open u have to remove locks and soak them in oil leave under engine oil all night, fixes ur prob.
If you have a remote, use it to cancel the alarm after battery is connected. Also look for a valet switch that overrides the alarm. Have to turn the Key on then hit the valet switch. If car will start but has alarm sounding find the speaker and cut the wire.
have you disconected the battery for half hour or so this oftern resets the lock code but you normally only have 3 chances before it locks out again. if not also post your radio serial number and model number and i will be able to clarify your code.
