Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-29LS35 29" TV

1 Answer

Standby light flashing

Hi. My TV is actually a KV-21LS30U which I think is the same series as the KV-29 but smaller screen size. When I turn the TV on the screen is grey/blue/green with slanted horizontal thin white lines, though the sound is OK. The red standby light blinks 5 times, stops, then repeats. Is it dead??

"the standby light sometimes flashes 5 times every 3 seconds" (sic) With regard to those flashes, if there is no mention of it in any of the manuals, from the links i have provided, then i would just keep an eye on it. But you have no real problem.

Sony KV-24LS35U green light flashing 11 times

The Sony error codes go up to 7, so when the standby light flashes 11 times it usually means that one of the clock or data lines deep inside the set is shorted to ground. This is not fixable from the front or through the remote, so the set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.
