and smudges on the printouts are due to deteriorating cartridges and
cleaning the green drum of the cartridge may help temporarily. Take out
the cartridge and gently clean the roller/ green drum with a dry, soft,
lint-free cloth wiping off the toner dots marks/ lines. (corresponding
to the location where you are having a green line on the paper) Also,
make sure that the visible inside of the printer is
clean and there is
no spilled toner inside, which sometimes results in dots. Moreover,
(thicker lines) and dots etc indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located
green drum inside the cartridge. Replace the Cartridge or get
the PCR Roller changed by a professional. Try cleaning the toners and see if it makes any difference. You would also have an idea about the toner drum/ parts quality etc and check if they need to be replaced. Furthermore, issues with Laser Unit like dust/ toner dust on the lenses and mirrors inside the printer usually result in faded or discolored prints. For instance, faded text/ picture at certain areas or any color missing when you print.

Well i really do not know what that is but i do have a thought it could be a bad connector and if you want i have the same tv for sale for $300 shipped just for parts the problem with my pt501 was the screen turned colors but the lamp is in excellent shape and so is the lcos screen the ownly thing that does not work is the main board (ciruit board) i will send you the hole thing for just 300$ shipped if you'd like email me back email@example.com
No the front panel will only give you access to the CRT circuits. Remove the back panel. UNPLUG your set. You should be able to reach inside (its a stretch for sure) to clean the screen, clean the tubes and if you reach up behind you can actually clean the mirror. This will greatly improve your picture. Do not use windex just a damp soft cloth then dry with a soft cloth. The mirror cleaning is most important to get a nice bright picture. Over the years the mirror tends to get dull. Hope this helps.
The green dot in the center sounds like a burn mark on one or more of the picture tubes inside the set, and the curved lines are telling me that you have a problem in the convergence circuits. The blue haze around everything white tells me you either have a lot of dust build up on the lens over the CRTs, or your picture tube(s) are very weak. If this set is over about 12 years old, I would replace it. I doubt if you will be able to get the green dot out of the picture without changing the tubes which would be VERY expensive.
