Hi, how about your other partition, such as D, E. If there are free space of other partition, you can move free space from other drive to your C drive with AOMEI Partition Assistant, a clean simple hard drive partitioning software. http://www.disk-partition.com/help/allocate-free-space.html

Here are some guidelines to choose the best location for your virtual memory file
a) Select the quickest hard disk.
b) If you have, two hard disks that are similar in performance select the hard disk that does not contain Windows system files (usually C:).
c) Make sure the drive has free space equal to at least twice the size of the recommended swap file size.
d) If the partition is on the same physical drive, select the partition in alphabetical order. For example, if you have one 20GB hard disk and you partition it into two 10GB partitions drive C & D) You should pick Drive C over Drive D if meets all the guidelines of a, b & c.

Set the Minimum/Maximum to: With large hard disks settings at least 128mb or 256mb swap file should be sufficient in almost every situation.
Note: The amount of RAM plus the size of the virtual memory file is the maximum amount of RAM you can use at once.
Click OK.
After setting the size of the virtual memory file windows will display the following message. You have chosen not to let windows manage virtual memory automatically.
Click Yes.
You must restart your computer before the new settings will take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?

Click Yes

When less than a quarter feel the need to vote for the effort some of us at FixYou offer, I think to myself, ”is it worth it”.

They get help, and do not care to thank you; “thank you” do not cost a dime, so why????

I KNOW this was a great help, so why????

Not enough storage space on my computer

Whatever version of Windows you're using, in the view you're most comfortable with (Explorer, My Computer, Disk Manager, etc) right-click on your local hard drive(s) C: D: etc and select [Properties]. The very first tab, [General] should bring up information showing the space on the drive and a button labelled "Disk Cleanup". Click on that, follow the prompts as needed to select items to remove from your hard drive. You'l probably see that Temp files, temporary internet files and recycle bin files are taking up a lot of space. These are safe to remove.
After that's done, in the same "Local Drive" properties window, the "Tools" tab will have a button for [Defragment Now]. Normally, Windows 7 and later defrag in the background but since you've performed a large file deletion a manual defrag is a good idea.

If you just need more storage space for files there are more specific options available for your PC. Could be simple as adding an external hard drive or check the Dell support site for upgrading the internal HDD on your computer.

MY DATA (D:) IS NEARLY FULL

Hard disk maintenance should be carried once a month to make your computer run efficiently. This removes redundant and temporary files, recovers disk space and speed up hard disk access. Disk Cleanup should be done first - Click My Computer - then right click on the C drive then click Properties, then click Disk Cleanup - let it examine the C drive then it will calculate the amount of disk space it will recover, tick all the boxes to recover the maximum disk space and then Click OK and then Yes to perform these actions. If you have a D drive then repeat these steps on this drive too. Next the C drive needs to be Defrag. This process converts fragmented files into continuous files and this speeds up disk access and makes the hard disk not work as hard. Click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter - click to highlight the C drive and click Analyse - then click Defragment. Repeat Defrag for the D drive.

My computer is so slow

Increase the RAM size of your computer. Remove Unwanted programmes. Make sure there is enough space for the Paging file. The paging file requires a minimium of 1.5% of the RAM sizw as free disk space on the paging file disk. make sure the is some space left on your system drive (in most cases the "C" drive).

Memory to low on c drive message pops up even after I transferred most of my files to d drive

Are you referring to the virtual memory or just disk space? Assuming you are on Windows, even after transferring files, the space might not be enough. You can change the pagefile size (virtual memory) or just transfer enough files and even move your temp directory to D. That way the partition/drive with OS will have enough space. Now a days keep at least one gig free there. It usually starts complaining when it gets close to 500 MB.

Slow computer

Sounds like your hard drive is (almost) full. The first thing is to make some empty space on it. Right-Click on you Drive C icon, and select Properties from the menu. If you have less than 15% disc space free, you cannot run Defragmentation. You need to erase some files, starting with the unnecessary ones like Cookies, URL, and stuff from your browsing sessions. Secondly, remove some files manually. The blue names means the files are COMPRESSED (don't worry about this). Remove all but ONE antivirus. Symantec have a Norton Removal Tool (Free download). The goal is make enough room to make the PC fast enough to do the backup.

Can't copy files to drive. Says disk is full and it is not.

what filing systems do the passport drives use and how large are each of the files ?

If they are fat 32 and the files are each larger then 4gb then that is why it will not work as fat32 does not support or allow more then 4gb per file due to the filing system so you would need to format it as NTFS if you want to store files larger then 4 gigs
