Sheila,

Try the following:

Clean the printhead, then print a demo sheet.
1. Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
2. On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
3. From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Printhead Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
4. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo and Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet.

Let me know if this works, Thanks Binary Bob

Magenta won't print at all on test page. Tried normal cleaning cycle several times to no avail. Also tried "power purge" cleaning cycle twice also with no success. Help!

The magenta print head nozzles maybe blocked.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Copying black but it is only printing in bands with white bands throughout.

Your print head is probably clogged. You need to go to "start", then "settings", then click on "printers and faxes". Right click on your printer, then click on "properties". A window will appear with several tabs. Go to the last tab named "maintenance". You have several options, but the one you need is "deep cleaning". Click on that and follow the instructions. You might have to repeat the process several times in order to get a satisfying copy. I also have to warn you that cleaning the print head uses a lot of your ink, but it should solve the white bands issue.

No Printed documents

Have you performed a print head cleaning? If not, follow the instructions below:

1) Press <Menu> on the panel repeatedly until [Maintenance] appears on the display

2) Press left or right arrow buttons until the cleaning setting you want appears, either [Head Cleaning] or [Head Refreshing]

3) Press the <OK> button.

Note: Head cleaning should be attempted first, and may need to be done more than once. Examine the results of the test page.

Head refreshing is more aggressive, uses more ink and should only be performed when necessary (ie. when multiple head cleanings failed to solve your print problem).

"Banding" on Prints

Do a thorough manual cleaning of printerheads (where the cartridges sit). Many printers are notorious for clogged nozzles and the ink dries on he prinheads until it becomes a bandind issue or ladders appear, smudges too. Use a proper cleaning solution and cotton buds, until most colour is gone off cotton buds. Reinsert cartridges and try again.
