Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Hi: I run a server remotely in Dallas with win 2003 os. I have just upgraded to this new server from win2000. I need some help in getting some processes installed and up and running so i can continue migration. Price is the big question. I am hoping to find someone that can give me a reasonable price either by the hour or for the job to accomplish this. I need PHP MySql CGI-Perl And possibly frontpage extensions. I attempted to install these extension which i know are not supported, but had trouble getting the administrator to load and then when i did get it to load, the extensions are still not coming thru when you are trying to publish. I don't need them with the exception i am running a sales cart for front page for one of my clients and it has a frontpage database, so i need to know if this is going to work outside of frontpage ext. Can you give me a quote on installing and troubleshooting to make sure they are running smoothly. I do have an issue with perhaps php, i installed already and installed with the isapi.dll, don't know if that is my problem or what but i get an error when i log on that says, IIS Worker Process encountered a problem and needed to close. I found this on the net about this http://forums.iis.net/p/1124286/1767095.aspx talks about downloading a debugger, etc. but i need some help to get me on the right track. I would expect to be kept in the loop and even have it explained as to what you did. Please let me hear from you Monday, time is critical on getting this going.

When less than a quarter feel the need to vote for the effort some of us at FixYou offer, I think to myself, ”is it worth it”.

They get help, and do not care to thank you; “thank you” do not cost a dime, so why????

How to Setup Microsoft Exchange Server

<p>Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 released on September 28, 2003. One of the new features in Exchange Server 2003 is enhanced disaster recovery which allows administrators to bring the server online more quickly. This is done by allowing the server to send and receive mail while the message stores are being recovered from backup. Now newly released version of Exchange server is Exchange 2010 after 2007 version. Exchange server 2010 officially released on 9th November 2009. But here I will discuss about Microsoft Exchange server 2003. In a workstation most of users are use Microsoft Exchange server as mail server.<br /> <p><span><span><b>Requirement of Exchange Server 2003:</b></span></span> <span> </span>Required OS for Exchange Server2003 is Microsoft Server 2oo3. There this Server should be a domain controller. For Exchange 2003 need some protocol like <br /> <p> <br /> <p><span><span><b><span> </span><span> </span></b></span></span>1&gt; asp.net<br /> <p><span> </span><span> </span>2&gt; SMTP<br /> <p><span> </span>3&gt;NMTP<br /> <p><span> </span><span> </span>4&gt;W.W.W<br /> <p> <br> <p>IIS should be install in server . In hardware system should have minimum 256MB of memory<br> <p><span><span><b>Installation of Exchange Server 2003: </b></SPAN></SPAN>There have three steps to install Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.<br> <p><span><span>1&gt;<span> </SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>Preparation of forest<br> <p><span><span>2&gt;<span> </SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>Preparation<span> </SPAN>of domain<br> <p><span><span>3&gt;<span> </SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>Installation<span> </SPAN>of Exchange Server<br> <p>To install Exchange Server you have to install the required protocol first. I have install the windows component such as IIS, ASP.NET, NNTP, W.W.W. from control panel with OS CD. Then I insert the Exchange Server Disk in CD rom drive and start the preparation of forest. I open the disk and run the forest prep from Exchange 2003 deployment tools. It will take several times to complete. After completing the forest prep I have run the Domain prep with the same procedure. The Domain prep will take also lots of time to complete. Then I have installed the exchange server by creating a new exchange organization. The total process also possible to complete from Run with command. The total job takes a huge time almost one hour or more. After installing Exchange Server I have configured it as per direction of the company. I have add users, groups, I create new administrative group. Following this process there I have done the whole job successfully. <br> <p><span></SPAN>

Windows 7 unable to detect Sharp Ar-287

Hi

Verify if your Windows 7 is 32 bit or 64 bit, than download the driver accordingly from the Sharp website. Also try upgrading the driver ,it helps.

Please check this link:-

I am usind Branded Dell Precision 690 Desktop Machine, i have already windows xp installed in it, but i want to install windows 2003 Server in it, but its creating a lots of issues to me to install server...

Before installing a Windoze server (no matter what flavour) you always need to verify the compatibility (drivers) with the machine's hardware... A Windoze XP driver will rarely work for a server environment... Micro$oft built all servers version to run in server machine type... further more you also need to verify softwar compatibility as well... as not all workstation software is compatible with server environments... and your machine advertises that it is a WORKSTATION NOT A SERVER...

Cheers!

Hi i have HP Proliant ml 150 but i cant install server 2003 . how to install windows server 2003

Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP x64? They're the same operating system as I understand it. You must have 64 bit hardware installed on your computer to run a 64bit operating system.

What errors if any are you seeing when you attempt to install this OS?

S3842 uk FREEZES ON BOOT every time have to switch off. on 3rd or 4th attempt works fine. any new software that requires reboot - it does this without a problem. started 2 months ago with original Vista...

Upgrades are usually troublesome as they leave bits of the old OS in odd places. It is best to do a clean install.
Choose your OS, either Vista or Win7. XP will not work!
Always download the latest drivers for the OS you are using from hp.com or it will keep hanging and be unreliable.
Hope this helps.

Window7 drivers for asus k8vmx

hi

unofrtunately this mainboard is not supported by Winodws 7

Win2003 is about all you'll get (or earlier OS as well)

general information (includes drivers) http://ca.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=dJ2XP7zr8tzeYbLp

FYI:

2008 is combination of vista and windows 2003r2. Some new services are introduced in it
1. RODC one new domain controller introduced in it

[Read-only Domain controllers.]
2. WDS (windows deployment services) instead of RIS in 2003 server
3. shadow copy for each and every folders
4.boot sequence is changed
5.installation is 32 bit where as 2003 it is 16 as well as 32 bit, that's why installation of 2008 is faster
6.services are known as role in it
7. Group policy editor is a separate option in ads

The main difference between 2003 and 2008 is Virtualization, management.
2008 has more inbuilt components and updated third party drivers Microsoft introduces new feature with 2k8 that is Hyper-V Windows Server 2008 introduces Hyper-V (V for Virtualization) but only on 64bit versions. More and more companies are seeing this as a way of reducing hardware costs by running several 'virtual' servers on one physical machine. If you like this exciting technology, make sure that you buy an edition of Windows Server 2008 that includes Hyper-V, then launch the Server Manger, add Roles.

3) In Windows Server 2008, Microsoft is introducing new features and technologies, some of which were not available in Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), that will help to reduce the power consumption of server and client operating systems, minimize environmental byproducts, and increase server efficiency.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 has been designed with energy efficiency in mind, to provide customers with ready and convenient access to a number of new power-saving features. It includes updated support for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) processor power management (PPM) features, including support for processor performance states (P-states) and processor idle sleep states on multiprocessor systems. These features simplify power management in Windows Server 2008 (WS08) and can be managed easily across servers and clients using Group Policies

i hope this helps you !

My computer system dell dimension xsp-t700r i want to install another new window operating system but it will run to some extend and stop, though i have run several window operating disk yet it could not...

dear mary,

it may be the case that the harddisk you want to install the new windows version to
is either full or has bad sectors in it,
in both cases it is necessary to fully erase all data and format it, before installing the new Operation System!

you perhaps can try to install win2000,
let it remove any existing installations and partitions(blank the disk) from the harddisk, then run a chkdsk scan from the recovery console, format the disk afterwards and quit without installing fully.
Now you can choose your desired windows version.
It could make sense not to install a later win than win xp home, for this machine is more than a decade old and therefore remarkably slow. Use Win2000 Professional edition if you can get a hold of a copy.

How to repair workstation, os are win2000 pro in workstation

do you want to reactivate the win220 pro installation on the harddisk which now you cannot access?
insert win xp pro install cd and run the repair process
or
if you have partioned the harddisk, simply do a new install on another partition, mark this active and now you should be able to boot up and access the old installation.
copy the non-microsoft programs plus personal data (everything that is not in the windows folder) to the new installation,
then run every single program from the new installation

good luck
