My Acer Aspire shuts itself off when I am trying to burn discs. It used to only do it every once in a while, but now it does it EVERY time! Like it'll run for about 10 minutes and then completely shut off. I leave it plugged in so I know its not the power, and I bought a lap-top cooling pad, so it can't be that it's overheating either. I don't know what to do because I am completely unable to burn discs anymore. And it even does it sometimes when I run iTunes too... any help would be SUPER SUPER appreciated!!!! :o[

Hi everyone, to get down to business, recently my Acer 5630 shuts down all by it self without any warning. Still can figure out how this problem strated. When i turn the laptop back on it prompt into the ¨Save Mode¨ Start Normally¨ect.ect. screen. Then it will strart normally but i keep having this turn offs to many times. Don´t know wheather it´s because i have to many windows at the same time open or because i only have approx. 10Gb left on my C drive or it´s because i have to many graffic info. stored or to few free memory (DDR) left. Someone said that maybe updating the BIOS will resolve the problem but i don´t think that´s the issue (to dangerous of a possible solution) neighter overheating because my ventilator works just fine, also i don't think it is a virus matter since i use Internet Security. Does someone having the same problem ? or know how to fix this?

I think the first thing you should check in the power save, Down by the clock, i know you can change how long your laptop is on to save power plugged in or on battery

Acer orbi webcam for lap top acer aspire 5630 not working by skype???

Check your device manager for device flags.
If found remove them. Remove the device and allow windows to reinstall the drivers.
If the imageing device is not being shown in device manager, you may have a bad webcam.
Remove any, all usb input devices and reboot to safe mode.
Check your device manager for device and flags.
If your imaging device shows up in your device manager and not in Skype, try removing Skype and reloading
Hope this helps

Shuts down abruptly after starting

you mention that the power just dies, there is a fault with the Acer aspire 5630,when i opened up the system,i noticed that the dc port at the back of the system was a little loose, the terminals were loose, and it was not charging or powering up,the reason why this is happening on most laptops is because the dc jack that plugs into the dc port on your laptop is heavy, and it tugs at the port,if they made the jacks lighter for the ports,it would not be a problem,i have hard wired a mobile pord and took out the old one and fixed the problem, the problem i find with manufacturers is that they dont design laptops that well, the design them to break down,so people like me are always finding new ways to make them function longer, get some one to have a look at it,it could be that, maybe you have a old batery?

Laptop goes off

If a computer shuts itself down suddenly after 10-15 minutes it's usually down to oveheating. clean the filters and ensure that there is good airflow around the computer when you use it. you can keep an eye on temperature and control your fans with this program

you might need to buy a laptop cooler like this

which sits underneath it and blows cool air in

This could be a heat issue. Make sure that nothing ( eg dust) is blocking the air vents.

That's weird. can you check that you have the proper timezone settings under "date/time settings" and that your system is not automatically syncing itself through the "Internet Time" tab?
