The only way it will make a difference in tire wear is if you are constantly spinning the tires and wearing them prematurely. If you are just turning traction control off but not spinning the tires any more than before you will not have any more wear.

No, that would be true if you had all wheel drive. Traction control puts traction where it is needed. It won't wear tires out.

SOURCE: spark plugs on 2002 Saturn vue

just completed a plug removal and install on my '02 awd v6. if you have the time and patience it's straight forward; common sense was most helpful. to gain access to the plugs, both fore and aft, you must remove, in short, everything near to, associated with, the air intake system. common tools plus a 1/4 socket, with 8 inch extension to hold a #10 star bit. these star bolts are under the rectangular plastic plate atop the intake. once you have those out, disconnect all the wiring, carefully. lift the intake out, look for plug covers, fore and aft, ignition assembly lays atop each row of three plugs. with the hands of a surgeon, remove the ignition assembly, and by golly ye shall see your reward. easy from then on.
replaced my plugs with the iridium 'honeys'; marked improvement in starting, acceleration, smoothnes, noise, and gas mileage to the value of + 3.0%. changed out the oil with mobile1 extended performance, changed transmission fluid. took a shower. time involved, 7.0 hrs. dealer be damned,,priceless!

SOURCE: 2002 Saturn Vue V6 Loss of Power

Yup. The throttle body connectors have a history of failing on these cars. Replace the throttle body and the wire connectors that go to it, and you're back in business. Not terribly difficult and you can get the parts from any dealer. Saturn actually has a bulletin out on this problem but they won't cover it unless you're under warranty - no recall for this.

SOURCE: 2002 Saturn Vue Ignition Cylinder lock problem

The keys on this vehicle have a problem with wearing down to the point where it's a pain to get them to work in the ignition cylinder. Examine your keys for wear and that may have been your problem since day one.
I have a 2004 Vue and I have the only key I got with it (used car) worn down to the point where it will no longer work in the back door and is a pain to use in the ignition cylinder. It also falls right out of the ignition cylinder when the car is running. I have a copy of the key that was made when I got the car which works just fine and doesn't fall out, and looking at the two side by side, you can see that Saturn's key has worn down substantially since I got it two years ago.

2002 saturn vue disconnected power on passenger doors

This power comes from the main driver's door switch. The wiring in the driver's door hinge area is known to break where it flexes, and the switch can fail from rain getting in it or just wear.

Why does the traction control light on my 2002

This can be because of multiple things (wiring issues and multiple types of sensors etc.) However,I would suspect the wheel sensors or wiring for the following reason: Traction control uses the wheel sensors to determine where the wheel is, i.e. how fast it is rotating, in relation to the other wheels. If the wiring or the sensor for one or more of the wheels is damaged, the computer can receive information that makes it think that the tire is rotating faster or slower than the other wheels. At that point the traction control will kick in to selectively brake one or more of the other other wheels to cause them to rotate at the same speed. This would cause hesitation and could possibly cause additional wear on your transmission/transaxle and/or your transfer case (the box that provides power to the rear wheels since the Vue is primarily a front wheel drive vehicle as evidenced by the sideways facing engine)

Saturn vue 2004 intermittent abs and traction control comes on and after restarting shuts off?

Has this happened after you replaced the sensors for the abs. if so they have to be set at a gap close to the rotor sensor to read correctly. The other thing maybe if the new sensors area slightly different to the original ones the abs might be having trouble identifying them.
The last one maybe, could the new brake pads be causing flexing or pushing against something resulting in this intermittent problem.

How do you work the 4 wheel drive system in the snow do I need to switch anything? i have a 2008 Saturn Vue Xe

IT'S AUTOMATIC! If there is a "TCS" or "Traction Control" button/switch, then leave that engaged at virtually all times. That year of the Saturn Vue did not come with 4WD (4x4); it offered AWD (all-wheel drive) which automatically supplements its traction control system (which was standard on all trims of that model in that year). AWD tranfers up to 50% of the power to the rear wheels when it detects wheel slippage. One up side (or pro) to having AWD is that you can use it on pavement. 4WD is generally too aggressive for that.
