When using the cold/cold wash the washer is actually doing a hot wash and sometimes a cold rinse...not always. sometimes it is a hot/hot wash and rinse even though i have it on cold/cold. if i turn the hot water off then i get an error message that says the water flow is low. now i understand why my cloths are shrinking.

Re: Washer is using hot water on the cold/cold was
Unless your hoses are reversed the machine control is bad and needs to be replaced. Please contact me if you need further help or leave feedback if appropriate as that is how I get paid. Thanks for letting me help you!

Good Morning, Pull the hoses off of the washer again, noting which hose goes where. You may have to pull the washer out to see this. Look at the male parts that are exposed. Take something sharp and pull filter screens out and clean. Reinsert and install hoses. Did it fix it? If not, you need a new water valve part number; 3979346 $35.92 at Sears. Hope this helps and have a good day
it sounds to me that the hoses are connected to the machine incorrectly. Typically if the plumber ran the water lines behind washer correctly the hot pipe is on the left and the cold pipe is on the right sometimes thats backward and be determined by touching hoses while filling on warm setting and see which hose feels hot. On the back of washer they where they connect hot goes on the bottom and cold on top
Check that BOTH hot and cold faucets are actually turned on and connected to the correct port. What happens is Dad gets a big hot water bill, and turns off the hot water to the washer...If the hoses were reversed, he actually turned off the cold water....On rinse, cold water is used, and if no water comes in, the machine just waits, forever.
It sound like the cold water inlet valve is faulty, the rinse cycle uses only cold water, and the water in the 'wash' cycle is probably hot.You need a new inlet valve, which on your machine is probably a double hot/cold unit.If you can't get a new inlet valve, a handyman/electrician may be able to change the wiring to use the 'hot' inlet valve for cold water which will allow the machine to wash, and rinse, using cold water through the hot valve..Tikka?...Good luck...Nomess
Sounds like the selenoid valves are backwards. Or the water hooked up backwards. Or actually like the cold water one isnt working at all. Either the selenoid or the screen stopped up. Even on cold water i noticed that some washers use warm. But all of them uses cold water to rinse. At least the last rinse. So when it uses cold water there isnt any. First of all, Switch the two wires with each other and wash on hot and see if cold works then. If not Take the selenoid out and apart then clean the diaphram real good with soap and water then pup back together.
It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed.
Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed. Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.
