hi i have this same problem, i own a vauxhall bertone with a state of the art viper system that has all the bells and whistles, but the car wont communicate with the remote anymore, the remote constantly played that start-up melody for some reason, think something was loose inside, i then changed the battery and its just buggered up, checked all the manuels and couldnt find any help, get a green light that flashes every time i press a button but get no joy, i thought these guys were the best for alarms, did i waste £600??? please help, tried all the obvious fixes like disconnecting the batt, no luck, girfriend threw box and reciepts away last month, i am one unlucky bleeder, i am also living in handsworth wood , so if anyone lives in that vicinity knows what thats like with sticky fingered tWocers, so having a kitted out bertone thats worth £30k is worrying. please hellllllp!

I have never taken the battery out. It's only 2 months old. Just had it installed. I think I did something wrong with the remote once and now the chirps have been turned off. I noticed the valet light doesn't blink anymore too. Had to be owner error.

Put the key in the ignition turn in two clicks. Take the key out hold down the program/valet button on the remote start then hit the unlock button on the remote.

The alarm doesn't chirp and no flash of my headlights anymore. Also the blue light stays on the little receiver/antenna on the windshield wheather it is locked or not. What is the problem?

sounds like the alarm went into valet mode. that's usually what a solid blue light means on most viper alarms. check your owners manual on how to take the alarm out of valet mode. with the 5701 alarm its usually done with the remote. hope this helps

Car starts all by itself....

Sounds like you have it in a timed start mode. Are you remote starting your car with the lock and unlock buttons? I have also seen viper remote starts crank the car when the battery level is low, if it is in voltage mode instead of tach mode. Once the voltage gets so low it will crank the car and allow it to charge the battery.

Viper works but remote start and keyless entry does not

On the remote start part, it might be as simple as relearning the tach. To do this, crank the car with the key, press and hold the valet switch until the led lights and stays solid now release.Try the remote start. Need to know what kind of car to comment on doorlocks.
