No, of course not.
What you may be asking is how to hook up a DVD player with only RCA outputs (either component or composite) to a TV that only accepts a coaxial cable input. In this is the case, you may indeed be able to solve the problem with a VCR, or with a TV modulator, which is a device that will work as a converter from composite video (yellow RCA) to cable (coax).

Hi,
VCR video signal wont come out from Component Video Out of combo unit, it is low resolution signal so you need to hook yellow-red-white video cable in tv for VCR output.
Make sure to select VCR as source in combo while playback of VHS tape and select DVD as source when playing dvd disc in combo.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

HOW DO I HOOK UP RCA 9IN COLOR TV MODEL 9V345T TO A DVD OR VCR

With TVs, the cable connections (red, white and yellow) are usually on the back of the TV, but if they are on the front, when facing the TV, the spot to put in the cables are on the left side of the TV. with most all DVD and VCR players, the wire hook-ups are on the back, and are color-coded, idiot-proof, no offense, that was not directed to you.

I have an older TV with only an antenna hook-up, a VCR, a DVD recorder and a converter box that I would like to hook all together. I can get the VCR to work, but don't really know how to hook the DVD...

Try this. You will need 2 RF cables and a RCA cable that has a red, black, and yellow plug on each end.
  1. Plug the antenna signal into the converter box.
  2. Connect the RF output (TV out) of the converter box to the RF input on the VCR
  3. Connect the RF output (TV out) on the VCR to the TV
  4. Finally, plug the DVD recorder into the converter box also, but use the 3 RCA cables that came with it (audio left, right and video).

I have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver. After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using this hookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv as usual...Now plug rca cables(red, yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directv receiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavox player...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that's ok) Now hook up up the dvd player to the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if your tv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available at walmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connections to the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)

Connection problems

The tv must have round RCA Jack plugins and then the tv must be on the right channel that is for the plug-ins.

Otherwise you will need to hook up VCR to tv and then all your devices and be hooked up to the RCA Jacks on the VCR to watch on tv

I want to hook a system

you will only be able to get digital surround( dolby digital ) from your dvd player( by the coax or optical digital connections ) , the rest will only be in virtual surround

from the dtv box plug the yellow video jack(RCA) into the vcr video input , then plug the audio jack or jacks into the audio input on the vcr. from the vcr hook the audio out to the audio in on the reciever( tv/vcr/sat... input ) , then also connect RF out from the VCR to RF in on the TV .
for the dvd player hook the "s-video out" to the "s-video in" on the tv , then the audio L and R on same s-video input , then send the audio out connection on tv to L and R input on reciever dvd L and R input , then you will need to connect the optical from the dvd player to the reciever or coax connections for the dolby digital on the reciever to work

Hooking up DVD/VCR combo to directTV and console RCA

I'd first just hook up the DVD/VCR to the TV and get that working. I'm assuming all you need is the standard cable type connection. This will at least your 4 year old happy. Then you can experiment with the S cable. The S cable will give a cleaner signal from the DVD to the TV. then hook up audio and video cables from the Direct TV to the DVD input. The audio and video will be cleaner using S cables and audio and video cables, but stadard TV cable should get you going. You didn't mention what model DVD player you have. You may have to select the correct inout on the DVD for the Direct TV connection.
