Question about BenQ PE7700 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Projector shuts down after turned on and both red lights blink

I have a benq7700. When I turned it on everything started coming on like it was suppose to. Fan came on (but was a little louder than normal), the screen lit up with the benq logo start up, then it all shut down and the temp light and the lamp light both started blinking red. Unplugged it and waited a while and tried it again. Same thing happened.

Red power, blinking red temp

Hi,

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

  • A flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
  • A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the projector is turned back on, service the projector.
Goodluck..

Projector screen turns off after 10-20 seconds

Is the projector receiving a source signal? if not it will power itself down after whatever time you have it set to do so when no signal is present.
Just an idea?

New bulb worked for a short trail run now wont light up. flashing green led colour wheel is turning on start up

when you changed the lamp, did you blow the dust out of the projector? if the screen on the side of the lamp is blocked (i.e. with dust), the lamp will blow quickly. if the projector were to overheat, by the fans not running or blocked vents, everything would shut down and the led would blink red.

When turned on green light flashes, then red flashes, no pic or sound

If your lamp is more than a few years old, I'd start there. The second issue has to do with fans. They should all run when the projector is turned on. Any one of them that won't come up to speed will shut down the unit. If the air flow is obstructed by dust, the thermal fuse could have blown.

Knowing the red blink code pattern will help to narrow down the issue, Google Sony (your model number here) blink codes and you should get info on what the blink patterns mean.

Once you determine what part is bad, google the part and you should come up with suppliers that will sell you what you need.

If your color is turning green, yellow or blue, you may have an optical block issue that you're not likely to get parts for on the open market.

EIKI XB23 PROJECTOR WON'T GO ON

Do you hear the fan start up? or does the projector lamp come on (you start to see an image)?

If yes to either:

When the temperature inside the projector reaches a
certain level, the projector will be automatically shut down
to protect the inside of the projector. The POWER indicator
is blinking while the projector is being cooled down. When
the projector has cooled down sufficiently (to its normal
operating temperature), it can be turned on again by
pressing the POWER ON-OFF button.

Note:
After the temperature inside the projector returns to normal, the
WARNING indicator still continues to blink. When the projector is
turned on again, the WARNING indicator stops blinking.

Then check the matters below:
– Did you provide appropriate space for the projector to be
ventilated? Check the installing condition to see if
ventilation slots are not blocked.
– Is the projector not installed near the ventilation duct of
air-conditioning equipment which may be hot? Install the
projector away from the ventilation duct of airconditioning
equipment.
– Are the air filters clean? Clean the air filters periodically. Let me know if you need to know how to do this.

If no to either:

When the projector detects an abnormal condition, it is
automatically shut down to protect the inside and the
WARNING indicator will be red. In this case, disconnect the
AC power cord and reconnect it, and then turn the projector
on once again for check. If the projector cannot be turned
on and the WARNING indicator emits a red light, disconnect
the AC power cord and contact the service station for check
and repair.

Please let me know if this helped solve the problem. If not, is there anything else you observed - whether or not you believe it's relevant.

My projector doesn't stay on. what's wrong?

either the lamp cannot strike (meaning a ballast or lamp issue) or there the fans are not up to speed to sufficientl;y cool down the lamp and therefore shut down to avoid damage.
