Question about Sharp Fax Machines

1 Answer

I bought a used Sharp AR 286 Digital Imager about 6 months ago. It has been in my garage. I tried to make copies today & got a message to call for service - code L3-00. I just want to make sure it works because I am looking to donate it to the PTA at my son's school. Can you help me clear the code to make copies & be sure it still works?

L3-00 is a code meaning that there is a problem with the scanner return. You can have a look at the sensors under the platen glass and look for a connector out of place. GOOD LUCK.

Sharp FO-4470: Error message is: "check cover or drum"

I'm assuming you already replaced the drum, and are still getting this error? Sometimes the chip in the drum that resets the counter is bad. This is esp. true if you get a reman drum. You should replace the drum and try again to see if this fixes the problem. Go back to the place you bought the new drum from and tell them the chip didn't reset the counter and if it's still under warranty they should replace it.

I HAVE AN ERROR CODE L6 ON A SHARP AR-163 PDIGITAL IMAGER.

L6 is a problem in the laser sistem. The polygon motor doesn't work. It is reparable if you can get it out of the machine to open it and lubricate it. If it doesn't get ok it can be changed, just the motor and the small printing board. GOOD LUCK.

My Sharp AR-336 copier gives two error codes: 1)is F2-37 & 2) is U2-00. The U2-00 I can clear everytime. The F2-37 won't clear for hours. The only things is to leave it unplugged for several hours...

when you turn on the machine it rotates and takes severaal readings from different sources. one of them is for the drum, adjusting the seperation to the age of hte drum. So as the drum ages with the amount of copies it automatically adjust it self. Have the tech replace that sensor (if they haven't done so) or maybe it just has toner on it giving false readings.
