Re: Ram problem

1)not all rams are dual compatible 2)did u try both sticks separately? (1 may be damaged) 3)are they exactly the same? CAS, voltage, etc..? Sometimes different CHIPS cause trouble 4)try changing to 333 mhz if it works, go back to 400 and try either CAS 3.0 (assuming auto is 2.5 or lover) if not working yet, try the "T" seeting to "1". If your BIOS doenst show this setting and is AWARD, after getting into it with DEL, press CTRL+F1 and then look which setting came from the dark... (hidden settings) on Gigabyte boards for ex. it has to be done.

I need RAM for an Intel E210882 D865GBF motherboard (DIMM, single notch more or less in the middle of the board). What do I need?

It appears your board was manufactured sometime around 2003.
It has supported front side bus speed of 800, 533, and 400 MHz, and has a capacity of up to 4GB Dual Channel DDR 400 MHz (PC3200), 333 MHz (PC2700), and 266 MHz (PC2100).

Note: Be sure to review important memory and system bus speed considerations before using this desktop board
Hope this helps.

I have a mainboard of model D845GVAD2------------------------AAC18931-104. It has already intall the Intel celeron processor of 1.8GHz. Now I want to upgrade my processor. So what high frequency processor...

The Intel® Desktop Board D845GVAD2 supports a single Pentium® 4 processor with a system bus frequency of 400 MHz or 533 MHz, or a single Celeron® processor with a system bus frequency of 400 MHz.

So you can install upto 3.06 GHz 533 MHz(cache memory) processor and also update the ram 2 GB 400 mhz.
Dont install Prescott processor.
Hope it will help you.

I have Intel Orginal 845GVSR motherboard with 2.4 ghz Processor and 256 ddr Ram. Can I increase my Ram to 1 gm with 400 fsb speed

Yes you can, the speed will be increased approximately more than 50%. There's also advantage if you can install two 512mb, which you'll see it as "dual channel", sometimes this is better as per the system configuration. Good luck. Thank you for using FixYa.

What kind of memory can i add

go by the law, youre only as fast as your slowest stick of ram, and PC2700 is about the most expensive ram out there.. old ram that is...
if i were you, sell those two, and buy yourself a stick of 512 pc3200..
i mean think about it mathwise...
if you go from 400 mhz ram
to 266 mhz ram
your going down in speed 33 percent...
sell em! =]
