Question about Whirlpool SF367 Gas Kitchen Range

Open Question

When baking the "off" button doesn't shut the flame off

Hey guys, I have a Whirlpool SF367LEKQ Gas Range. For Thanksgiving Day the turkey was larger than the pan so the oil from fat dripped on to the bake burners, igniter and so on, needles to say it caught fire and we put it out with the extinguisher. We saved the turkey though! Since then the bake function will not turn off when i press the "off" button, i tested the broil function and that works fine, it's just the bake that won't shut off, so I'm wondering if it's the solenoid at the gas valve tha's getting stuck, or could it be the bake relay getting stuck not sending a signal to the solenoid. I don't want to buy one or the other part without first knowing if the off signal to the bake relay is different to the on signal, if that makes any sense! What do you guys think could be the problem? Please help! and Thanks a bunch!!!

SOURCE: Gas does not ignite/click on while trying to bake

Hi,
The problem most likely is with the igniter that lights the burner for your oven. I have just written a tip on that subject. You can view that here.

Hello,
In addation to the spark do you hear th egas flowing as well? if you do hear the gas and can light it with a match/bbq lighter but it doesn't light with the spark,it could be cleaned by using a safety pin/paper clip and push through the holes where the flame burns all around the burner(s) also steel wool will clean the burner.

E1 F5 Error Code RPD-305-PDS14 Whirlpool Double Oven. Woke up to code. Turn Off/On/Breaker and Appears to re-boot, until you turn the oven on, then 30 seconds later back to E1 F5. I replaced the whole...

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

When using the convection roast, does setting it to 325 show on the display as 300? I am cooking my turkey at 325 and display reads 300.

Your range has the feature called auto recipe conversion, that means it will automatically adjust your settings to compensate for the changes when useing either convection modes, bake or roast, rest assured you turkey will turn out perfect with convection roast. Remember that raosting time will be slightly reduced also with convection roast bakeing. Have a wonderfull Thanksgiving and Holiday season. Good luck !

The oven will not stay up to temperature

This range has Direct Spark Ignition System (DSI). If ground is lost or not present on the DSI board (located to right of the display board when looking at the rear), the DSI will not detect the flame. The easiest way to determine if this is what is happening is by listening for the flame to start. If you hear a woosh (flame starting) but still hear the sparking, the DSI system is not detecting the flame. It will re-try three times then lock the system out (there will be no indication on the front panel) and will need to stop the bake cycle and re-start.
To fix, remove the top panel in the back and use an ohmmeter to measure the ground from the DSI board (upper right board) to the ground pin of the power plug. I would recommend placing a starlock washer on all the grounds to prevent this from happening.

Bake and Broil not working

After you hit the function you want...bake or broil...click the up arrow.  That should give you the default temp of 350 and the unit should light.  Now adjust to the temp you want.
