Question about Sylvania Televison & Video
I have a Sylvania 6637LCT A, which has no power. Changed the intenal fuse, but the second I plugged it in it blew again. Is there a transitor that needs repaired at this point. Any help is greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: amp keeps blowing fuse
I have this same problem. You have blown the internal amp. I have had 2 of these do the same thing. There is nothing you can do but report it to infinity and try to get the unit replaced.

I too had this problem. I read some posts on this site about how to repair it, and low behold, they worked! I took the back off of the TV, and the first thing I found was the fuse was blown. With my meter, I checked the first 1N5406 rectifier diode after the fuse, and found that it had shorted out. Then I had to learn to desolder the diode, which I learned about on Youtube. I bought a pair replacement diodes at Radioshack for $1.49 and four replacement 125 volt 4 amp fuses. The whole repair cost about $5.00 and a few hours about learning about electronics. The TV works great! Good times!
