SOURCE: I want to change my forward gear shifters on my

I'd go with OEM parts. Unless H-D has change the frame, the footpeg and shifter mounts for one of the mid-mount Dyna's should work. You'll have to go to the dealer to find out what parts you need and to order the parts. You may even wind up replacing the inner primary. I don't have any experience with the Twin Cam powered Wide Glides, only the earlier Evolution powered models. I'd still stick with OEM parts if possible. They're expensive but they are high quality parts, not this cheap Chinese junk everyone else sells.

I have a 2000 volkswagen golf if u slam down on the shifter going into reverse it goes otherwise it goes into first

check in the selector turret at the top of the box that the adjustment has not altered or gone stiff. Normally you will need a small amount of downward force on the gear lever to prevent un-required reverse selection during normal gear selection

There are three dails on the 1581vs jig saw drill one is for the speed whats the other 2 for

The numbered wheel on the top handle is for speed control. The sliding (ratcheted) lever on the side near the blade is for controlling the forward motion - the blade can either go straight up and down or follow a slight orbit on the downward cutting cycle. The third dial is on the bottom and is used to adjust the angle of the blade w.r.t. the surface of the wood being cut.

The 5r55e automatic transmission would only go in 2 gear. I then replaced the valve body, all 6 solenoids, internal wiring harness, and position Switch (DTR Solenoid) - The truck drives good and shifts...

My guess is the cable needs adjustment on the shifter.. seems to have slipped maybe a loosened hold down bolt..these have to be precise, good luck!!!

HI can the gear leaver be ajusted, {taken forward a little as i have large feet and i find my foot is at a sharpe angle downwards to be able to get under the lever}

You do not say what model you have but this may not matter. What you need is a heel toe shifter. You downshift with your toe and up shift with your heel. Kuryakyn may make one that fits your bike. But you may be able to fit one off off a Road Star if the spline is the same. The only other options would be to have a welder cut and extend the lever (If it is iron or aluminum.).

2000 harley davidson softail custom 3,500 miles on stock motor when in 3rd gear trying to downshift into second it goes by it right into nuetrual??? why its annyoing

It should not do this. Evidently, there is something amiss in the shifting portion of your transmission. I would try adjusting the shifter pawl first. This adjustment is not difficult but requires a specail tool with which to get onto the adjustet. The adjuster is on the left side of the transmission just forward of the shifter shaft lever. It is behind the outer primary which makes getting to it difficult without the special tool.

To check it, with the engine off, gently depress the shifter lever downwards like you are going to shift into low gear. Depress until you feel the shifter pawl engage the shifter drum cam and is beginning to shift the transmission into gear. In other words depress the shift lever down until you feel it bump but don't shift it into gear. Then, do the same thing lifting the lever up like you are going to shift into second. Does the lever travel the same distance downward as it does upwards. If not, the shifter pawl needs adjusting.

If this is not the problem, you may have to remove the transmission top cover. With the cover off, you can see the adjustment of the shifter pawl. You may have a problem with the shifter pawl itself or the detent ball may have a problem.

At any rate, it should be something that can be repaired without a major disassembly of the transmission.

Gear shifter adjustment

The VZ 800 ,has a linkage system ,it can be adjsted to suit your needs .Firstly , your linkage attaches to the front foot lever.on the other end the linkage attaches to the actual gear box.Its this part that you need to adjust ,Undo the bolt that holds the linkage bracket to the gearbox spline. slide the bracket of the spline .undo all the adjusting screws on the linkage rod ,position the gearbox linkage unit to the required angle you need to position the foot lever to the popsition you want and the adjust the linkage rod to suit the distance between the garebox liinkage unit and foot change.

How do I operate 10 speed road bike?Schwinn La Tour How do I change gears

the gear lever on the left controls the front derailleur which will have two different size sprockets...when you first start to ride you want it on the smaller of the two. The gear lever on the right controls the back or rear derailleur with a gear cluster of five small to increasing larger sprockets...when first starting to ride you want that on the largest one .....five in the rear and two in the front (5x2=10 variable speeds to chose from). as you increase speed slowly lift up (because this lever will be located down) on the right shifter to help maintain an even speed to help you go faster..when your on the smallest gear in the back and want to go even faster then pull down on the left shifter to go to the larger sprocket you are now in ten gear. When coming to a stop reverse the shift levers and repeat...if the chain rides off the sprockets when shifting especially in the front derailleur it means the shift guide is bent to far to one side or you derailleur needs adjusting same goes for the rear..there are two little screws stops with springs that you use to make these fine adjustments. My family owned a Schwinn shop, i was a mechanic for a good 12 years and i havent heard the name La tour in a long time i owned one myself and have a traveler still today. Tip..keep chain lubed, WD-40 will work fine, and also lube the gear cables with a light grease...also dont rotate the handle bars up for easier comfort because in an emergency stop situation all your weight will transfer to the brake levers and you fly forward over the handle bars.

2002 toyota camry doesnt lock in parking

Have someone operate the gear shift while you watch the mechanism on the transmission so that you know what parts you are looking for. Shift into the park position, then uncouple the linkage and move the lever on the transmission fully into the park position. Then adjust the length of the linkage while holding the driver's lever in the park position so that the linkage connector goes back together without pulling on anything.
