Question about AT&T E5908 Phone
I have a corded phone that also has a cordless base and phone as part of the phone package. The corded phone and answering machine work great. The cordless phone says "cannot connect". The cordless base has power and it indicates that the phone is charging. All of the features on the cordless phone work, with the exception of trying to make a phone call. The phone is less than 6 months old. Could the battery be bad? I have tried moving the cordless phone into the same room as the corded phone and I experience the same problem. Thanks for the help.
Cordless phone will not come out of the "OUT OF RANGE" mode
although it it sitting in the base

I have the very same problem and it was after storing numbers into the directory, although that may not have anything to do with it.

You may need to reset the Telephone Answering System. Complete the following steps to reset the Telephone Answering System:
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
Step 2: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base and charger.
Step 3: Set the day and time.
