I have a Dell Inspiron B130. I have brought 3 chargers. The computers has to always be pushed in or wiggled around to actually be charging. I think that it is the input prong. It seems to be loose and have a shortage in it. Can this be fixed because Im tired of buyig new chargers.

The problem is not the chargers, it is the power connector on the laptop. Yes it can be fixed, laptop need to be dismantled to get access to this connector and a new one to be soldered in.
If you can't do it yourself the cost of fixing it may be expensive and if the laptop is a fews years old, it might be better putting this money towards a new laptop.

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, model no. PP23LA. My problem is that the system does not recognise the power adaptor/charger & will not charge the battery. The laptop will run with the power...

If the battery is not charging, the problem is most likely the battery...not the charger. Check around to see if you can get a battery replacement I think would be your best course of action. If you have a friend with a model laptop with the same battery you could always "test out the scenario" before purchasing one.

Good Luck

The light for the charger turns on but the computer won't turn on

Does the battery charge light come on? If not, then you either have a bad AC adapter or the motherboard is defective.

The same exact thing is happening to my Inspiron 9300. Did you get it repaired? After reading lots of forums, changing AC adaptors and ordering a new battery, I came to the conclusion that it is the plug on the laptop that is not working.

1.have u tried using a new charger? or atleast borrow someone's charger for the same model and try 2.how bad is ur battery. if it is ok enuf to start the system can u try that once 3. try removing the battery pack and disconnect the cable for power and press down the power ON button for 30 seconds and then replace just the charger and then start the machine keep the battery aside 4. did ur niece have to yank the cable out when she finished using the computer? maybe the joint where the connector had to go in was broken 5. was there any reason for voltage fluctuation(lightning rain etc) maybe the junction where the power reaches the motherboard was burnt 6. If all these are fine then ur voltage controllers must have blown.
4 and 5 can be rectified if u have soldering experience... 6th one needs more better tech support and most chances are when u get to a techie he would ask u to replace the mobo

Either the plug on the laptop is bad, or the charger cord is faulty. If you have a friend that has the same charger you can use it to find out which.

Bought a new power cord because I had to keep moving cord around to get battery to charge, move and would lose charge received new power cord and still have to move cord around to keep getting a charge...

First thing you need to do is STOP trying to wiggle the cord to make it work. You could damage the motherboard.

The power jack needs to be replaced. It's a pretty standard repair. You can try finding a local laptop tech from Craigslist or visit your local shop.

This type of repair usually runs 70-100 out the door (depending on where you live)

I don't recommend you trying to fix it yourself.

My Dell Inspiron B130 will not turn on

The battery is critically low, indicating that it is not getting a charge from the AC adapter. If the system will not power on from the AC adapter, then the motherboard power connection is suspect.

Motherboards are about $100 on EBay

Red Battery light flashes when computer is turned off

The reason the battery indicator would flash is because its reaching the end of its useable life. Meaning that it will become harder for the battery to keeps its charge until it finally doesn't keep a charge at all. best thing to do is when your not using your laptop unhook the charger to it so its not always charging the battery.

To fix the problem though you'll have to get another battery unfortunately.

Charger

If the port is suffering from a bad connection, you have to re solder it to the motherboard. I recomend you take it to a shop unless your an expirenced computer tech. Or you could replace the motherboard, but if your gonna do that, you are better off buying a new computer. I hope this helps. Good luck.
