MSI Error - HP Image Zone

I have recently started receiving errors when I restart my PC (TrayApp.msi is not found) and the PC continuously attempts to find/install the software. I have found that this is due to HP Image Zone trying to start. It has been 6 months since I installed my printer and I have never had any problem with it before. I found an HP link for the issue that says I should uninstall then re-install the image zone ( However, when I look in add/remove programs, there is a crud load of software packages that look like they are for HP image/print/docs, but nothing that is called HP Image Zone so it is unclear what to uninstall. I found another utility on the HP web pages that will remove the Image Zone (and all my printer drivers too?), but it says it only works for version 4.2. A bunch of my HP stuff in add/remove says 5.3 (but I am not sure that is what I should be looking at). When I try to pull the msi files off my install disc, or try to use my install disc, I get messages saying my current installation is more current. Then everything exits so that I can not proceed. Questions: - What exactly should I un-install before re-installing the printer software? How do I uninstall HP Image Zone? - Any guess why this is happening (will I still see the issue after the re-install?). This is a home business PC with virus protection (no issues detected), so there is less chance of undesired junk being on the machine. PC is an a1310n running XP media center Printer is an HP1315 PSC all-in-one Thank you for any help

Re: MSI Error - HP Image Zone

Is TrayApp necessary for the operation of a computer? I keep getting this pop-up and I can not get rid of it. If I need to install it , I get no information how to do so. Is seems to me that it is some kind of virus. Is it?

Re: MSI Error - HP Image Zone

Hi ChaBair, Image zone is HPs attempt to get its customers to store, share and backup images on their servers: I would try reinstalling the installation CD again making sure the printer is off until it prompts you. This time when you get to the part where you can select what components to install document the program names just in case you do have to manually uninstall later. Anyway reinstall and when prompted connect your printer. Also before you actually try to use the printer make sure you go to the HP site and download/apply any patches there may be. This should fix your error problem and give you a good idea which of the ancillary programs to uninstall if you later desire to do that. This didn?t 100% answer your question but I believe it will in the end achieve what you?re looking for. If it doesn?t work let us know and we?ll go from there. Also please don?t forget to rate this posting when we?re done.

How to fix Trayapp.msi missing problem

Do you have the installation CD?
If so here is how to remove it..
1st Insert the disk into the CD-ROM.
2nd With the message displaying trayapp.msi is missing click the browse button
3rd - Select the cd-rom drive click/ open the setup folder, then open the trayapp folder.
4th - select the trayapp.msi file and double click on it to open it.
5th - this should return you to the install wizard and finish walking thru it.

if you do not have the disk..
download the software program from HP's website:

Select your operating system.
Click on Software or scroll down to software.
Download the correct software based on you region.
Then un-install the existing software program, reboot your computer.
Then install the software you just downloaded.

What is internal error # 2343 for a hp psc 1210v printer, can i correct it ?

Hi, brucen19

Problem Fixed...

I received "Internal Error 2343" as well. I was able to resolve this using Orca> to edit the "aiosw.msi" file.

I removed all references to "SetINSTALLDIR" and "SetINSTALLDIR2" under both "InstallExecuteSequence" and "InstallUISequence". I then saved the MSI file and re-ran the Setup.exe and all worked well! I recommend that you make a copy of aiosw.msi before editing in it Orca.

Rather than downloading the whole SDK you can just download Orca here;

TrayApp keeps trying to install when computer is started

If you have downloaded the software from web and if you have installed it then

just click on run and then Type %temp% and hit enter
look for a folder name starting with 7z
open that folder
go to setup folder
go to trayapp folder
and then repair the trayapp.msi file by doing a right click on it and i am sure this will do

It won't scan. It said another program is using it, but there is no other program.

To resolve this issue I request you to please go through below weblink...I resolved this issue with my setup and hope will help you as well.

You may receive a the message("... ") given in the weblink with a different msi file name(eg: scan.msi or camara.msi etc..), we need to note this file name and perform the below steps. In the below web link an example is been shown as 'Camera.msi' you may not receive the same message, note the file name in the error message you received and replace it with camara.msi and perform the rest troubleshooting from the below web link.

Hope this helps from my side..

I need to get rid of TrayApp installer. How can you help me??

Insert the printer CD to the PC, close the window that opens automatically.
Open My computer icon, locate the CD\DVD drive and then right click and then select Explore, that would show CD contents, Open Setup folder, in the setup folder open Folder named Trayapp, in that folder you have a file named Trayapp.msi, right click on that trayapp.msi and then select the option repair, restart the PC and then check for the error, any clarifications please comment.....

HP Guru Needed!!! Subsystem spooler printer errors, trayapp.msi and HP Photosmart Essential.msi errors.

Best solution is to download the latest AIO software package from the HP site and install with that. Just make sure you get the right package (32-bit or 64-bit).
