-   I have the same problem. two handsets not working properly: one showing one bar but not charging, one completely dead. The one that had one bar, I switched off the charging station at the mains and it started charging OK again when I switched it back on, (but for how long?? no-one knows) The dead one I tried this and it did not work - we changed over batteries with the main phone and it was dead - conclusion - batteries dead. Put in non rechargeable batteries to check if handset was working. It was.
I have come to the conclusion that as I have had the phone system for some time the re-chargeable batteries are becoming exhausted. Hope this helps.-   Silver-P

-   I have a system with 3 phones of this model and I am experiencing the same problem with just one. The symptoms are identical. Even charging with an independent method charges the batteries but on installing them into the phone the signal goes directly to a single bar and then nothing.-   johnwg

-   The phone looks like it is charging up but keeps no charge. It also looks charged only to drop to nothing when taking it off the charging unit.-   Bebby1
I think I have managed to solve my problem. I have been using ordinary batteries and not rechargeable batteries. Now we are using the correct type of battery the units are working fine.
