I had this problem and was advised to do the following before calling a repairma. Check electrical panel and make sure breaker has not been trippped.
Check the lint traps - exterior and in the dryer and make sure they are clear.
If you have a plastic exhaust hose shine a light behind it and see if you can see any clogs. Recommend changing to a metal hose - the plastic ones are fire hazards.
Try another electrical item in the plug the dryer uses (hairdryer is best) to see if pulling sufficient current.
If you get this far without getting the dryer to work then you probably need a repairman. I ended up having to have the thermostat replaced $90.00 for everything and he did it in my home - lot less than a new dryer!
